He hasn’t done anything yet but blab and you can tell the real purpose of his speech was to claim he won the election at the end.

It was his best speech in years. It was also a small taste of what an alternate Trump presidency could've been like... throwing shit bills back in the face of both parties.
Having said that....
His words mean next to nothing now. It's not just the lame duck aspect of his presidency.... it's the fact he has no political clout and doesn't know how to get things done.
Can you picture him twisting Mitch's arm or convincing Pelosi to work with him? Of course not.
He governs by tweet...and occasionally gets something done through executive order. Everything else is just standard Republican agenda set by Mitch... massive tax cuts for the rich, supreme court picks.
He had millions of people supporting him and they preferred him over the GOP itself. He squandered it all for an agenda Jeb could've pushed through.
What a cluster fuck this whole era has been.

If the whole thing is vetoed we’re done on stimulus talks. McConnell has more power than Biden will ever have as far as i can tell and McConnell has no incentive to do anything ever.

The GA election complicates things greatly for the Republicans. Without that hanging in the balance, I'd agree with you....we get nothing.
Trump just threw it in their face. If the Republicans don't agree with 2k, they risk taking all the blame and losing both seats in a close race....which strips Mitch of his power.
I guarantee Mitch wanted to kill him after the speech....he got a bill that not only gave the plebes crumbs, Pelosi called it "tremendous".
It was bipartisan with a few holdouts.
Now that Trump pissed on it, you've got politicians from AOC to Ted Cruz calling this bill the load of shit that it is...and Pelosi went from calling it tremendous to wanting a do over.
He never understood the potential his presidency had. If he did, he simply didn't give a shit.

Trump just vetoed the defense bill. They can probably override the veto or just ride it out until Biden.
Either way....it makes a statement. He's not bluffing on the stimulus. If he is, it reminds me of that old Woody Allen saying.....

If Trump wanted to make demands then why did he wait until now to throw his tantrum?
Government shuts down in a few days, unemployment runs out Saturday...
He's just causing as much damage as he can on the way out. What's most likely is that we'll all get nothing and we'll like it.
Mnuchin represented Trump and his administration during these negotiations...it's not like he wasn't involved even if only by proxy.
Does he have a point about the bill? Maybe...why did he wait until now to say what he said? to do what he did?
And now he's golfing in in Florida.
This guy needs to be obliterated when he's out of office.
