BUMP
Ok guys, I know not everyone is a big as a fan as me of horror movies but I HAD to show you all these two new scores!! I got the end all Michael Myers mask that looks just like the screen used in the original Halloween (DTJ - Horror Mike was so impressed by it he wants to use it for a reference on his next mask he makes!!!) and a Freddy that looks like someone cut off his head and gave it to me it is so real!!!
Remember guys this is about stuff you collect, ANYTHING you collect. You don't have to post pics and most definitely don't have to be a Psycho like me and be posting crazy stuff, lol!

Thanks Laura, I'm glad you like it. I have already been offered a grand for it. Those of you that aren't mask collectors I know must think this is insane but I would guess this mask to top out around a 2500.00 mark. Only 9 were made total and one was accidentally destroyed leaving only 8. Then only three or four of the 8 turned out this good as these are Indy masks and each one done by hand. The investment potential in these Indy masks are very solid. I have made over a grand in just the last month on masks I had sitting around.
The reason this looks so good Laura is someone did a near exact replica of the Kirk mask and then another guy did a conversion to make it look like the H1 mask using Tommy Wallace's techniques used on the first movie!!

Here in lies the debate. Some people believe that Tommy Wallace as he has stated on camera, purchased a 1978 kirk mask, spray painted it and ripped the side burns off. Then there are those that believe that Carpenter had Don Post scuplt a mask based on that idea.
Which is true, what's the word on that on the Myers forum?

Re: Do you collect anything?
BOTH are true. BUT the one in the movie is Tommy Wallace's handy work. There are a few rare pics of Don Post's mask but they look a little different. For one thing the eye cuts are much larger and the mask loses the effect as a result. The Don Post masks were pulled from the Kirk mold but then haired differently and without sideburns. John Carpenter has said in an interview (I have the footage) that the screen used mask was the one TW did which was simply a Kirk with the sideburns ripped off, the eyes cut out more, the hair sprayed black and the mask painted white.
In fact if you look at the movie (the first Halloween) closely you will see scenes like the closet scene that clearly shows residue/hair from where the "Kirk-burns" were originally. Obviously this proves Wallace's mask was the one used in the movie. Why would Don Post create a mask then add an effect to the mask to create the illusion of sideburns being ripped off? That is ridiculous and the statement that shuts the mouths of the DP theorists very quickly. Here's a screen shot from my blu-ray Halloween disc on my HDTV that clearly shows this to be true:
The masks that Don Post made were worn by crew members at a party and they are clearly different than the screen used mask. It's rare but there is footage of the after party showing the crew members in these masks. I also have a pic of the DP mask somewhere and will post it when I can find it.

Re: Do you collect anything?
I always believed that the TW mask was the one used, especially since I talked to him about it myself. I have also seen the glue marks where the side burns used to be.
Thanks for the answer tho, just wanted to see where others stood on this issue.
