Re: Amy Winehouse Arrested
LONDON, England (AP) -- Amy Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault Friday following reports that she scuffled with two men during a wild night out, Sky News television reported.
The 24-year-old soul diva, who recently entered rehab after years of erratic behavior and canceled concerts, arrived at a central London police station to answer questions relating to the alleged incident, her representatives said.
Police didn't directly confirm that Winehouse was in custody, saying only that a 24-year-old woman was being held on suspicion of assault. British authorities don't usually name suspects until they have been charged.
Winehouse didn't say anything to assembled photographers and cameramen as she walked into the station late Friday afternoon.
A man was quoted in tabloid newspapers as saying he was hit by Winehouse when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar in the Camden neighborhood and then head-butted another who was trying to hail her a cab in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested in the Norwegian city of Bergen in October and held overnight on charges of drug possession. A video of her allegedly smoking crack hit the Internet shortly before she won five Grammys this year for her critically acclaimed album "Back to Black."
She was arrested in London in December on suspicion of attempting to interfere with a court case involving Fielder-Civil, but earlier this year police said prosecutors were no longer pursuing the affair.
Fielder-Civil faces charges of perverting the course of justice stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman

Father: Winehouse suffers lung, heart ailments
LONDON (AP) -- Soul diva Amy Winehouse has damaged her lungs by smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes, her father said in an interview published Sunday.
The Sunday Mirror quoted Mitch Winehouse as saying that Amy has an early stage emphysema and an irregular heartbeat, and has been warned that she will have to wear an oxygen mask unless she stops smoking drugs.
"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," Mitch Winehouse was quoted as saying. "There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity."
Winehouse collapsed at her north London home Monday after signing autographs for a group of fans and was taken to a London hospital for tests. She remained there all week.
She is still scheduled to sing at a concert in London on Friday celebrating 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela, the South African Nobel Prize-winner, and plans to take part in the Glastonbury music festival the following day.
Mitch Winehouse said it would be good for his daughter to perform.
"When she's been inactive work-wise then that's when the problems really start. The doctors have said that medically there isn't any reason why she can't do Glastonbury," the paper quoted him as saying.
He also pleaded with her drug taking friends to stay away from her.
"What hope does she have if people are taking drugs around her," he said.

Re: Amy Winehouse Arrested
There have been times in the past where people have called fans of certain musicians merely fans of the druggie-addict heading to death image they have, and that's pissed me off. (Usually in reference to Shannon Hoon, even Layne Staley once or twice). But Amy Winehouse is a case where even I would suggest it. Her image has made her vastly overrated imo. Yeah, she's talented, but is she really that fantastic?
I have no hope that she'll get back on track.
Re: Amy Winehouse Arrested
It's like the music industry has already gone out and found a replacement for Winehouse if she ends up dead.
it might not take long for that to happen russ
