Re: Chinese Democracy's unreleased sister album "PRL"
We've had a quote in Whispers for awhile:
"With 18 songs, the group's next album [...] which will be released in June [...] is a collection of songs, which, in Axl's opinion, are as good as 'November Rain'. Among them 'Madagascar', included in the show on Sunday. The CD will include a tribute to John Lennon [Catcher in the Rye], and another [song] about child abuse."
However, the original article was recently posted on MyGNR Forum by a user named "vloors" and contains some hidden gems.
"He admitted not feeling happy with the show last night, and gave some details of the new album: he already has 36 songs practically ready (one dedicated to John Lennon, another about child abuse), and there is a possibility that the album is double , in the style of Use your illusion, one of the compacts would be named after Chinese Democracy and the other would be called PRL"
It's possible it could be a misunderstanding by the media outlet but it specifically mentions 18 songs due for the album Chinese Democracy and a total of 36 songs "practically ready". One of the songs mentioned is about child abuse, now know as "The General".
"For now, we’ll concentrate and keep our focus on this album, but I will say I’ve always thought of it as a double."
"But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of Chinese. That's already recorded...That's been done for a while, too. But after Vegas [Guns N' Roses performed a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino that ran through early June], we're going to start looking very seriously at what we're doing in that regard."
In short, Chinese Democracy's sister album has been done multiple times over just as it's big brother.
Is the track listing above from "PRL"?
What does "PRL" stand for?
Did we get a combination album with Chinese Democracy's official release in 2008? I.E.: were "If The World", "Sorry", "Shackler's Revenge" always destined for CD II now known as PRL?
Will we ever hear these songs?

I wonder if Scraped, Better, I.R.S, and This I Love would have gone to "album 3"? Along with Hardschool and The General since I haven't seen them mentioned in this tracklist or the one before.
Was OMG never intended for an album?

CD is an awesome album. It would have flowed a lot better without Catcher or Sorry, saving them for the second, imo. Otherwise he should have released the double album.
There are more Tommy and Bucket songs. We need to hear them before they re-record them. I think Hardschool will kick was with Slash. Seeing how they reworked Better, this could be their song. Axl isn't opposed to changing lyrics, either.
