He can't. CD/ISE trend in the bass end of the spectrum, Slither in the treble.

He needs to use his throat/diaphragm to control and vary the pitch and that's where his voice is shot.

However, what could maintain stability? Shows with shorter duration? Better fitness? Development of new vocal techniques? Surgery on the vocal cords?

I'm just talking about it... I know we do not have the information and therefore we do not have deep considerations to make.

Axl blew out his voice in the Illusions era. Never to retuuuuurnnnn.

Axl and Kurt Cobain aren't dissimilar to many hardcore vocalists I've followed or heard about. They're enthusiastic about performing and they just keep on doing what they know until they run their voices into the ground. This can happen to even the most accomplished singers, i.e. Adele, Michael Jackson come to mind. It takes a lot of work to keep your voice strong and healthy even under the best circumstances.

The S.S. Axl has been running on fumes for years. He's basically all technique at this point.
