Re: US Politics Thread
Being a parent of one of the victims just has to be the worst feeling. Going from being one of many other parents hoping its not yours, wanting to see them again, wanting to hear from them or contact them, knowing the odds are in your favor. Then, slowly, as time goes on & passes by, you witness other kids released, get home, hear from other kids or parents, know they're all safe, but just not hearing from your own.
Just that turn has to be awful. Then, finally being told. Ughhhh. Agoniizing.
I can’t imagine. Then imagining what happened etc all over again for the rest of your life. So sad.
How the AR-15 is Still legal is amazing.
Re: US Politics Thread
It’s on Congress and the NRA, not Trump, Obama, Clinton or Bush.
However, it would be nice for Trump to call on some preventive measures like Obama did. If Trump supported it, with a GOP Congress there’s at least a small chance something could get passed. He could be a hero.
In fact, where is he? Why doesn’t he address the nation after these things every once in a while. Guess it doesn’t matter. He’ll have another chance in a couple weeks at the rate the shootings happen.

Frank Bruni had a great segment, if you want sound gun control, stop using the phrase gun control. Stop saying something should be illegal and talk restrictions instead, which most gun owners support. The second you start using words like ban and make illegal you lose that support. Be smart.

Good point.
Re: US Politics Thread
Rubio jas a chance to step up. Its his chance to take on DC, the NRA, and be on a national level.
Rubio won't do shit. He's a whore for the NRA.
We've had opportunity after opportunity (if you can call it that) for these failures to stand up and do something...they do nothing instead.
Total inaction as our children get slaughtered daily.

It's all how you package something.
But at this point, the NRA and their troops are so hysterical, you can call it anything you want, it won't change their reaction. They're fanatical.

^^ I actually think the gun makers themselves will be the ones to spur a change. Most guns made today contain a microchip for various reasons, such as inventory, etc. You could eventually have them alert schools and public spaces a gun is in the vicinity.

Finger print trigger technology could be the future to where a gun can only work by one user like how you lock your iPhone etc.
