So if you want a Democrat in office, why would you support the guy who can't even unite his own party in the battleground states, let alone the man who has 3x as many of his own people jumping ship to the other guy?

To me, fair is fair, regardless of November. If Obama wins the popular vote, and gets the most delegates, it'd be very hard to give the nomination to Hilary. Now, if it's split, and Hillary wins the popular vote, but Obama has more delegates, I agree a case can be made on her behalf for winning the "swing" states, but you have to look at America, and the people vote. Not just 3 states. It may not help in November, but that's the  way it is. Otherwise, the parties should only have primaries in about half the states.

Obama's delegate lead isn't significant and he barely leads her in popular vote.  Regardless, neither have the amount required to get the nomination.  So the burden falls on the super delegates.  Who's will should the SD's honor, those of their state, the general public or their own judgement?  If we made the super delegates vote for whom won their state, guess what, Obama would be very unhappy.  If they're supposed to vote on the popular vote, there is no point in having them at all and we would need a universal primary election so that those who benefit or are hindered by caucuses (how anyone can call a system the prevents a significant portion of people voting, egalitarian and democratic is beyond me) all get equal treatment.  If the SDs are free to vote for whom they desire, then Obama supportters shouldn't bitch when they opt for Clinton who is only slightly behind but fairs much better in the states that matter in the election.

they really should swallow their pride and work together...i'm not saying who should take that back seat as a vice prez candidate...but I am saying that, if it's about party and ideals, then that's how things should be run.

Ok, so Obama can't unite the party in swing states such as Ohio and Penn. And Hillary did? The argument that Obama can't win those states is that EVERYONE who voted for Hillary won't vote for Obama. Right now, they may say that, but that's right now. The simple fact is Democrats came out overwhelmingly to vote in the primaries, in record numbers. Numbers never seen before. They attract people who don't usually vote. In many states, both Hillary and Obama, with the number of Democrats who voted for them, outperformed the entire Republican slate. If you think those people are going to simply abandon the party because Obama or Hillary wins, you're fooling yourself.

I'm basing my opinion off of facts at this time.  Anything is possible.  However your opinions are based on gross assumptions.  Someone who votes for Hillary or Obama may not necessarily vote for the other in the general election.  Numbers don't lie.  All I'm saying is I'm ready to hear all the conspiracy theories come November when McCain is announced the next President because he won Ohio and Florida.

I just want to add that 43% of Clinton voters in PA said they would vote for McCain or not vote at all if Obama is the nominee.  Further proving my point that Obama is not guarunteed the votes Clinton brings in.  I'm assuming Obama would pick up PA in the general election, but with both NJ and PA being strong possibilities for a McCain pickup, it's looking more and more grave for Barack.

Like I said, that's what they say now, in the heat of the battle. When they're staring at another 4 years of the same-ol, same-ol, the alternative is gonna look pretty good. Hell, I said right here on this board that if Hillary steals the nod by somehow getting the existing Michigan and Florida vote to count, even though they all went along with the party's ruling, I wouldn't vote for her. Truth is, I probably would.

I wanted Evan Bayh in the first place anyhow.
