Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash’s girlfriend Meegan Hodges and his bandmate Myles Kennedy appear to have differing views over his future.

Hodges recently wrote on Instagram, “Slash had no break….He has a record to make with SMKC. With that said finishing decorating our house. Paint, antique shopping and fleet markets. Finally gonna have some time.”

When asked about a new Conspirators album, Hodges responded:

“They get back in the studio at the end of the month.”

Myles Kennedy seemed to have a differing view on Eddie Trunk’s podcast this week, stating that he has had text conversations with Slash, but that there are no concrete plans since things are going so well with Guns N’ Roses and since Kennedy himself has a new solo album coming out in March. Kennedy said after his 2018 solo album cycle, he will go back to Alter Bridge for a new album in 2019.

Watch a video below from Guns N’ Roses Central discussing Kennedy and Hodges’ comments, including a conspiracy theory that their comments could be a cover for secret new Guns N’ Roses recordings!

Re: Slash’s 2018 Recording Plans

I said in another thread, if new GNR material is the plan then all solo stuff gets dropped like a stone. The only project that can’t be dropped as easily is Axl/DC but we don’t know the status of that anyway.

Not that this news confirms anything from a GNR pov but I’d expect Myles to know his own plans.

Would be great to see them hit the festivals next year with a new single on the radio, let alone an album.

What if Slash is laying down riffs and ideas. Let’s say they are to present to Axl and should Axl decline, he just uses them with Myles. Slash is going to record REGARDLESS!!!

That worked particularly well with Snakepit.

Maybe he is headed into the studio just not with Myles.

So out of interest.
When did Duff record Walking Papers new album? That's out in a few short weeks so I'd have to imagine he recorded that while in GNR?

Anybody have any more info on that?

The second Walking Papers record was recorded around Christmas 2013, right after their tour. So actually quite a while ago. There were some issues with the release at first. From what one could gather from their FB Updates, there were troubles with finding the right label and also some issues with naming the record?! It was never announced but reading Barrett Martin's book makes me think they actually broke up at some point. He mentions that in 2014 "his latest rock band split". I don't know what other band that would have been. It also would make sense as their FB Updates almost died completely in 2014. Instead Duff suddenly was talking about a new solo album that he started recording with Izzy and Jeff (from Loaded), Jefferson Angell (singer of Walking Papers) then started his own project with Ben Anderson (the keyboard player of Walking Papers) and nobody was talking about WP2 anymore. Then GN'R happened and only after Barrett's Martin book release he started talking about it in interviews again, saying that they were waiting as long as Duff would be busy with his "day job".
