Re: US Politics Thread
Alaska is now in play now? He has no money in ARZ so I'd expect a loss there. If you follow the money trail, it's obvious he'll get blown out and
The last poll in Alaska had them within margin of error, Trump up by 3.
The last two polls in Texas has Trump only up by 2 and 3 points respectively.
The last two polls in AZ has Clinton up by 2 and 5 points respectively.
Latest poll in Utah is within margin of error, Trump up by 2.
These are kind of amazing figures to me.
Re: US Politics Thread
What's the likelihood that Trump will claim Fox news is biased against him tonight ?
...Or that he'll be asked about whether he thinks the election is rigged?

If it's a landslide the Republican party needs an overhaul on some issues. Realistically, since the 80s Reagan era (H.W. '88) they've only won 1 election, in 2004, which was fairly close, but John Kerry wasn't all that great of a candidate. By any account the 2000 election was a dead heat (not saying Bush didn't win fairly or anything, just that it was generally a tie when looking at it from the big picture). Leaving 92, 96, 08, '12, '16 to the Dems. I think our country in changing in demographics. Keep in mind even the 2000 could've gone to Gore, but the "Family Values" Monica Lewinski scandal was fresh in our minds.
Re: US Politics Thread
This election is so nuts.
In latest poll, McMullin leads Trump in Utah. The dude is actually peaking at the right time and could pull it off.

That guy is more clueless than Johnson. The Christian right needs higher standards.

This is a Mormon thing, not an evangleical Christian thing. He's Provo Born and a BYU guy, which is hardcore street cred in Utahland.
The LDS church has been turned off by Trump for a long time, especially in regards to how he talks about women. Switching to the conservative Mormon makes total sense to me.
On a side note, a lot of people don't know this, but Salt Lake City itself is blue. They voted for Obama and they have openly gay representatives etc. It's the rest of the state that's deep red. Just an interesting factoid....

Ah, that makes sense. And I did not know that about Salt Lake City.
I think this election is going to be a very low turn out. That will be the only thing preventing a Trump landslide defeat.

That does make sense for Utah to possibly sway Hillary. A bit of a long shot, but I'm sure alot of Mormons' just can't vote for Trump. So they'll vote for whoever this McMullin is (they're very supportive of their fellow Mormons) or they just won't vote at all, both splitting AND lessening the GOP votes.
