Re: 23/7/16 METLIFE STADIUM, EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ UNITED STATES
Generally the setlist is pretty good - but all they'd have to do is use some of the alternate tracks on their own list to spice up the show.
Especially when doing 2 nights in the same town. Why not crack out a perfect crime or a twat or a slither? Maybe in place of the The Seeker if time is an issue.
In terms of "How quickly we get complacent" that's what you get when you delay your reunion until the singer has vocal problems and don't bother with a reunion album.

Killer fucking show man. The crowd was pretty damn good too. They were into every song. The only song I noticed a little drag was This I Love. But it was great. Loved the intro Slash does for Better. Axl sounded really good overall. Struggled with Coma but that's really it from what I remember. Slash was on point the whole night. I didn't get kicked out or arrested which is always a plus. the tailgating before was pretty epic. Lots of love. Gnr took the stage around 10. We skipped Lenny.
Cool stuff...glad u had a good time
In ur opinion what was the best song to witness with the 3 big dogs up there?

Cool your jets pal. Need a handkerchief ?
Stop telling people they need a handkerchief just because they make a valid point. Also funny you said that to someone who is just as much if not more of a hardcore fan of the 2001-02 lineup as you are.
11day(and others) are right. When any artist/band go on tour, its not being catered to the extreme hardcore fan who watches daily periscope/youtube vids. Its catered to the people going to the shows.
While I do agree there's some room for improvement in the set, its not even close to being stale. I also find it interesting that those who strongly supported the AFD rehash of the 2000s have issues with the 2016 set lists.....which is an incredible blend of the band's discography. Instead of offering one thing(CD) but delivering another(AFD) we get a smorgasbord of tracks, some of which fans never thought would be performed again.....even if there was a reunion.
I think they've done a great job trying to balance out catering to casuals and hardcores. They could perform nothing but a hits set and 90% of the crowd go home happy. Instead they are digging deep into UYI and TSI and that's not to please the average Joe who has Jungle, SCOM, and PC on their Ipods....its to please us.
Yeah you want new music.....so do most hardcore fans. The reunion has only been going for a few months. Give them some time. YOu gave the last CD lineup eons of time to release an album that was never coming. I think the modern lineup which is very high profile, getting rave reviews, is actually reworking tracks we've already heard, and has interest in moving forward deserves more of a chance than was given to the last lineup to produce anything when it was obvious they would produce nothing.
There are no obvious signs of the current lineup coasting on fumes and phoning it in like the 09-14 lineup. Its actually the exact opposite.
don't bother with a reunion album.
I still don't understand the complaints on the issue of no new album. The reunion is months old and sandwiched in the middle of it was a stint in AC/DC.
LIke I said when the rumors of this shindig first surfaced, the reset button was hit on CD II. You haven't been waiting 15 years for GNR to release it.....you've been waiting about six months for an album. There were zero chances of a reunion album in the first six months....and there's a zero percent chance of a reunion album in the coming months. If we get something new in the fall, its doubtful it will be a full length reunion album.

I agree with this in general. It's a good mix. But I'm yet to hear any reason why they should do the exact same set two nights in a row in the same town? Why not add in one of the rehearsed alternate songs on the second night? No one is calling for drastic changes.

But it hasn't.
Ron said he knew slash was coming back when he quit in 2014. So it's been going almost two years now in private.
Slash has recorded albums in as little as two weeks.
Axl has 'unfinished' songs nearing 20 years old.
There is zero reason to "reset the clock". It's shameful they waited until Axl nearly lost his voice to get around to sorting out a childish power struggle. The last thing on earth they deserve or need now is more time.
Quite the contrary - a sense of urgency is what the band has lacked since AFD. Time to reignite the fire and prove to the world you have something left other than copying what you did at 28.

Re: 23/7/16 METLIFE STADIUM, EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ UNITED STATES
Tonight's show is the SAME FUCKING THING. FUCK THIS SHIT. UNLESS THE ENCORE IS DIFFERENT, SAME SHOW 2 NIGHTS IN A ROW. The order may be different but who cares. KOHD AND LALD DO NOTHING FOR ME. Scratch them.
You need to go sit in the corner.
