I'm surprised it's a choice between Patience and Don't Cry. They aren't my favourite tracks in the discography, but the casual audiences would know both better even Civil War/Estranged for example.
They are literally Greatest Hits tracks for the band, it's weird. As long as the shows are getting good reviews though, that's the most important thing.

Apparently they're contractually required to play it or something. It makes 0 sense to do a cover during the encore. I imagine it saps the energy out of an encore that should be building up to PC. Don't know why they don't just do both Don't Cry AND Patience instead of rotating them.

I mean he surely isn't on bad terms with Uncle Axl. And if they were I assume it is like a brotherly thing where they would get over it. Since they got back to their childhood. Those type of bonds last.
