Why haven't the Mexicans turn to terrorism when they are not fully assimilated in the US? Maybe because they are not radicals Muslims....

Or because Catholics aren't villainized as much as Muslims?

Forgot that, obviously it's tied to their religion, I AGREE. We're just asking two different questions: you're thinking 'ah, evil muslims, must keep them out'. I'm thinking 'ah, indoctrinated people, how can we bring them into the modern world'. I think the second question is harder to answer, but a much better way to achieve a more peaceful world.

You make good points!

DCK, I seem to be stacking up these near misses! I was in Paris the day of the Charlie Hebdo attacks, I was in LA when San Bernardino happened, I took the Thalys the day that attack was foiled... Oh, and my birthday is September 11th... go figure!

Good to hear you are okay. That is one scary list of near misses you've got. I bet you're on a watch-list somewhere just for having been so close to so many atrocities.

In the UK they were in the not too distant past.

In certain parts of Northern Ireland which, is in the UK, religion, Catholic vs Protestant still matters enough to get you blown up.

It doesn't make international news anymore because its just a part of life

They still blow people up in NI, wow. That's really weird not to report here across the sea. How often does it happen?

Someone dies maybe every 2 or 3 years. Bomb scares and controlled detonations are monthly. It isn't as bad as it was back in the day but I avoid the North like a hole the head.

The actual numbers are very high 69 bombs found in public places in 2014 alone and 99 in 2010. I haven't seen any stats for the last 2 years but I've heard they are higher.

69 bombs in 2014.... If that was in any other Western country there would be outcry.

The guy from my last post who had supposedly "minor injuries" died a few weeks later. The press really plays this stuff down.

These are just the ones that go off before they're intercepted.

The shit is likely to hit the fan next week on the anniversary of the 1916 rising.

Northern Ireland is still quite messy.

It's chilling isn't it? People being killed over nothing. Really shows the power of the media too. Living in this country really gives you a weird perspective on the world. It's just so full of contradictions like this.
