Thanks to Alternative Nation....

Chris Cornell has announced the second North American leg of his critically acclaimed Higher Truth World Tour, with fan presales beginning tomorrow, Monday March 7.

The tour will kick off on June 16 in Clearwater, FL and travel up the East Coast through the Midwest and up to the Pacific Northwest before winding down on July 27 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Along the way Cornell will make his first appearance at the Ravinia Festival on July 3 in Highland Park, Illinois.

One dollar from each ticket sold will support the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which is currently raising funds and partnering with charitable organizations to mobilize support for children facing problems including homelessness, poverty, abuse, and neglect.

Fans will see Chris perform in an unplugged, up close and personal setting in venues which have been hand-picked to host the show, including tracks from his latest album Higher Truth which was described by Entertainment Weekly as “a stellar collection of folk-inspired, classic rock-kissed songs that revolve around his iconic pipes.”

Produced by Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Neil Young), ‘Higher Truth’ showcases Cornell’s constant evolution as a master songwriter, lyricist and musical craftsman – telling human stories which transcend musical genres. Inspired by the stark arrangements of musicians like Nick Drake, Daniel Johnston and White Album-era Beatles, Cornell creates a musical universe unlike anything he has done before. Download ‘Higher Truth’ HERE.

He's playing here next month. I was all set to go but now it doesn't suit. A shame as he's playing the best venue in town. It was a direct choice between him & Mark Lanegan, they're both playing the same night (I hate when that happens), & there was actually really no choice in the matter for me.

Have you seen one or both artists before? Obviously you prefer Lanagan but if you've never been to a Cornell/SG show maybe reconsider. He's busting out some killer set lists on this tour.

Don't make it worse for me! It's already painful enough!
I fucking hate when promoters are such assholes to schedule gigs on the same night. & I mean two guys who would share an audience. It's a small town as well so.. Fuck me. Obviously you gotta take into consideration the artists schedule but there's gotta be some flexibility & consideration for the fans too.. But clearly not.
There's another clash in the summer, Neil Young playing the same night as mudhoney. Anyone in their right mind would've tried to get mudhoney on the Neil Young bill but no..

I dunno. I'll maybe change my mind on he night of the shows & see if I can get a ticket for the Cornell gig. Lanegan comes around every tour but when am I going to get the chance to see Cornell solo again?
Ah fuck! I fucking hate this shit! Why do people do this to me..?! The whole world's against me!

Considering the fact Soundgarden is working on an album and when that comes out(late 16/early 17) they will certainly tour it, this could possibly be Cornell's last solo tour for 2-3 years.

Its probably why he's doing it now.

Speaking of Soundgarden I saw them live for the first time a few years ago. They were fantastic.

While it was (obviously) nice to see Cornell with a guitar in hand once again, ripping it up, the true highlight for me personally must have been Matt Cameron's drumming - I don't think I've ever witnessed a drummer that is able to play in such a flawless manner while still delivering tons of "feel".

He was truly incredible.
