Re: Ponder this....
Obviously Izzy isn't doing cartwheels down the street in excitement over how this is turning out. SG does bring up good points....Izzy doesn't join social media just to follow the movement of the Kardashians. There's something going on.
I think the questions that need to be answered are in regards to Izzy's commitment to a tour.
Was he offered back in the band? Does he just want to tour? Did he agree and something has changed? Or does he want to have his cake and eat it too(the occasional appearance but on his terms)? Does he want to write with the band? Basically...Izzy....what do you want! ? And that is an important factor because everything will fall into place after that question is answered. It all starts with Izzy and his commitment.
Yeah YG pretty much sums up the whole story right here.
What does he want? If he wants back in full time...give it to him. Fans will say its too risky, he'll flake out..fuck that. If anyone deserves a nice ride into the sunset, it's Izzy. Without him where is GNR in music history?
Put Fortus(or anyone) on salary to sit backstage in case Izzy doesn't show up....then proceed with plan B. Don't use plan B right out the gates.
He should tweet his cover of Jealous Guy next
Why....do you want me to burst into tears?
I'm sure there is something to it all but at the same time I think we're over thinking it.
That's what we do to pass the time around here, we overthink just about everything. We think there's meaning and intentions behind everything.
Yeah that's the reason fan sites exist.
Reminds me of 2006 when I posted this long rant about something and one of the long time members replied with "Don't worry about it". Like a week later one of the shows he was going to was canceled or some other mess, and he sent me this long panicky PM. I actually felt for the guy but I sent him a four word PM:
Don't worry about it...
It was the last time he told me to stop worrying.
Re: Ponder this....
Ehh, I think there's more to it than that DCK (good to see you again friend). Lofton is right, Izzy doesn't join Twitter and suddenly become the most vocal member or former member of the band, when Izzy's been a ghost for the last 10 years for the most part. Now suddenly he's out-Slashing Slash?
Izzy is sending a message. And it could be one of two things. 1) Izzy could be speaking for the fans and telling the band "Don't lead MY fans on, by pretending i'm going on stage with you when you know I turned you down", or 2) Izzy sticking his toes in the water and gauging fan reaction to his "potential" involvement and whether it'd be worth it to him, or 3) they turned Izzy down, or Izzy's request, and this move is to try to put the pressure on GN'R to pay him what he wants to be involved.
I actually think it's a combo of all three. Still don't think it happens until 2017 at the earliest tho.
