Re: Ponder this....
When it was just Axl, Izzy was fine playing randomly. When it was Axl and Duff, no Izzy. But now, ALL OF THE SUDDEN, Slash is back and Izzy wants back in full time. So I guess Slash alone makes this real GNR enough for Izzy to protest it. Pretty powerful. It took Slash to return for Izzy to give a fuck.
Is part of him jealous because he convienently could play both sides with all former members and be nomad, and now that may be over. Slash comes back suddenly his wants his role increased. Something isn't adding up.
I think there is something here. Make up for lost time because not it really is legit in his eyes. The Slash factor is powerful.

Re: Ponder this....
It seems Izzy originally left because he was now sober and didn't want to be around drug use, and, he didn't appreciate being turned into an employee when he was a co-creator of the band.
He tolerates that shit for small bursts cos it's fun. I think he was down to play the hall until Axl bailed.
As for full time - I assume he was always holding out for Axl to bring back the others as full partners and they could go back to being a real band. But it's never going to happen.
Also if I could be cynical - the annual AFD paycheck gives him the freedom to do as he wishes - but in the downloading age that will be getting smaller - so watching the others host a semi-reunion without him might be financially tempting and so he was interested.

We don't know that Izzy wants back in full time, and we don't know he's protesting it either We're all just drawing our own conclusions at the minute

True, but he damn sure isn't supporting it.

Re: Ponder this....
There is nothing saying Izzy wants back in full time. Or that he is or isn't supporting it. This is assumption blvd.
I have heard many reasons he isn't happy.

I'm sure there is something to it all but at the same time I think we're over thinking it.
I doubt we'll ever know.

Re: Ponder this....
I think the questions that need to be answered are in regards to Izzy's commitment to a tour.
Was he offered back in the band? Does he just want to tour? Did he agree and something has changed? Or does he want to have his cake and eat it too(the occasional appearance but on his terms)? Does he want to write with the band? Basically...Izzy....what do you want! ? And that is an important factor because everything will fall into place after that question is answered. It all starts with Izzy and his commitment.
Its disturbing that they all collectively cant even execute a layup. I blame the "camps". I'm tired of hearing that word.
There are no need for camps. All they needed to do was get in a room and hammer out all the musical and touring details/expectations/wants and needs themselves. If they were all on board after that conversation then they could move forward with a tour. If they dont make it out of that room in agreement then theres no reason to move fwd. It will be too spotty and frustrating like everything always is with this band. As it is right now! When the money flows in they can then pay their "camps" on their own dime. Basically paying them to stfu and stay out of everything.

That's what we do to pass the time around here, we overthink just about everything. We think there's meaning and intentions behind everything. And with the lack of information that we're given, theories are constructed and subscribed to.
Izzy could be pissed, it's possible. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a piece of the pie that the others are getting. Is he willing to put in the work though, like the others? Par for the course, but these are things we just don't know. Izzy is vocal right now, so if that continues maybe we'll find out how he really feels.
