Re: Kanye: "I did not diss Taylor Swift"
I told everyone years ago that whole Kanye-Taylor Swift VMA fiasco was a 'work'. People thought I was crazy. This time it happened, he decided to just come out and admit that this one was.
Kanye West says he “did not diss Taylor Swift,” despite releasing a song in which he takes credit for her fame and calls her a “bitch.”
As Gossip Cop reported, on Thursday West premiered his new album at a concert listening party and “Yeezy Season 3” fashion show at Madison Square Garden. One of the new tracks, called “Famous,” features the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous.” There was an immediate backlash from fans and Swift’s celebrity friends, after which West’s camp claimed Swift gave him permission to use the lines.
But Swift’s rep told Gossip Cop late Thursday that Swift did not approve of the song, and actually warned him about releasing something with such a misogynistic sentiment. Furthermore, Swift’s spokesperson says she wasn’t even made aware of the “bitch” lyric. Now, on Friday morning, West is ranting about the situation from his perspective.
“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her,” West posted on Twitter before firing off a number of tweets in a full-on rant. “First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship. 2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it.”
West continued, “3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. 4th Bitch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word N*gga. 5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with…”
“She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS,” claimed the rapper. He went on, “6th Stop trying to demonize real artist. Stop trying to compromise art. That’s why music is so f*cking watered down right now. I miss that DMX feeling.”
West argued, “7th I miss that feeling so that’s what I want to help restore. 8th They want to control us with money and perception and mute the culture but you can see at Madison Square Garden that you can stop us. 9th It felt like a seen [sic] from The Warriors ALL GODS ALL GODS ALL GODS in the buildin not just the famous people there but the kids the moms the dads the families that came to share this moment with us.”
West abruptly stopped after that. He and Swift are pictured above at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, where she presented him with a special honor six years after West infamously interrupted her on stage, kicking off their feud. Gossip Cop will have updates as the renewed beef continues to unfold.

I've tired of Kanye, but, like Axl, he does whatever the hell he wants, is a dick and is no fan of the music industry. I respect him as an artist and think he gets shit on far too much for his personality, which is ironic when it comes from GNR fans.

I think he sucks and I don't see the talent. I see the talent in Axl. Take away Kim Kardashian and he is a nobody. He is like the Ron Artest of hip hop. Does crazy shit but is no Michael Jordan. Sounds like an idiot to me.
Re: Kanye: "I did not diss Taylor Swift"
Hmmmm, I suppose I'm a bit in the middle. I think Kanye is a talent, compared to most other hip hop rappers. He does seem to put on good live performances when I've seen him (He's on SNL tonight, BTW). However I think he takes himself too seriously, and invokes controversy, and has ever since the George W Bush hates black people comment.
He's wrong in this case too, terribly wrong. Taylor Swift was well on her way to becoming famous at the time of the MTV awards, and that little fiasco didn't boost her into another stratosphere of fame or anything, she gradually grew. And it was inevitable she wouuld have even without it. What also needs to be said was that Beyonce video (Put a Ring on it) was just terrible to begin with, so it in no way warranted "Video of the Year" anyway, let alone Kanye iterrupting it and proclaiming it 'The best video of all time' or whatever he said... Sure maybe Beyonce was the best artist nominated (Best Female Video?), but that wasn't the award being given out.
Now if he said he put Taylor in touch with the producers who helped make her last album then maybe I would believe him, but again, that's not what he's saying. He's just saying something stupid, like always.
Re: Kanye: "I did not diss Taylor Swift"
I genuinely don't get why people give a shit..??
I've followed Kanye from the get go - liked the first two albums, loved my beautiful dark twisted fantasy & have been left nonplussed by the rest. His singles have often been inspired - runaway, goldigger are exceptional. Runaway in particular I thought was one of the songs of the century so far, that great yea (but I was a big clipse fan before that).
But as to why there's a thread about this 'controversy' on a GnR forum I don't understand what you're getting out of it.. I hear he likes a finger (or thumb?) up his ass while fucking.. That'd be more appropriate for discussion imo.. Can't fault the guy for that either really..
Re: Kanye: "I did not diss Taylor Swift"
I don't give a shit about either artist. My point was there was a huge controversy about the incident at the VMAs years ago and we had a discussion about it here as it was one of the top stories at the time. I said it was a 'work' by both artists, they had agreed to it before it happened, and the whole thing was a publicity stunt to promote both artists(and Beyonce). Everyone disagreed.
Years later, its happening again and now we see evidence of the two agreeing to THIS one so it shows that they more than likely did the same thing back then, which is what I believed the moment it happened.
THis is how many artists/celebrities promote themselves in this culture....manufactured publicity stunts. The strategy works.

Yeah she was already a major artist at the time before any of that crap happened and certainly didn't need him.
For a week Taylor-Kanye-Beyonce were THE story and it certainly boosted promo/sales for all involved.

This x a million.
Kanye needs help. He has a clinical God complex. And no talent to boot.
Axl never was that, and actually did have talent. I see no comparison.
SG is right... he's a spoiled, coddled idiot.
