Re: Date this DJ-era show, please.
That was 2012 I think. I think from the Vegas residency.

Or maybe 2014 residencey. Maybe the AFDemocracy Blue Ray. I have seen that before and the band looked at him kind of funny.

Not an Ashba supporter by any means but that audio sounds tampered with. Axl has stopped songs/walked off for less.

But I just met it, and I don't swing that way
Re: Date this DJ-era show, please.
Was he known to be bad live? Mistake alot?
Yup, that's the idea I've gotten. The consensus is apparently that DJ put a reasonable effort into it in 2010 and became inconsistent later on. Much like Axl.

The way I see it, that Patience solo goes on... and on...
Axl walk in and whistles, to signal he's ready to move on...
The solo turns into heavy metal...
Ron and Frank are trying to clue DJ in... The solo goes on...
Re: Date this DJ-era show, please.
My god that is terrible. Cringe worthy on many levels and just one of many reasons the Ashba era is the lowest point in GNR's history. While CD II should have came out in this era, I don't blame Axl for having no desire for this lineup to really do anything other than tour the hits. For fucks sake if you cant even do that song properly, what good are you? Axl should have walked over to him and said something or tapped him on the shoulder. Tommy appears to be laughing it off but I don't think its funny. Tommy has gave the best interviews on the CD saga and I hope at some point we can hear his opinions on this Ashba lineup once there's some more distance from it.
I have not watched a ton of footage of 2009-14. Past couple months I've watched random clips. Some of it is actually good. Stuff like Raw Power is a treat and I watched the title track being performed at one of those SA shows and its bad ass. Reminded me of 01-02 and why I was initially excited for the project. Then you see clips like this one, or Ashba standing there pretending to be Slash, or Madagascar being performed at one of the shows and Fortus is playing, up close shot, then you can see he's either not plugged in or isn't in the mix, etc. and realize how unfortunate it is that the whole thing went in this direction.
The 2009-14 lineup never should have got past rehearsals. He's really that bad. While I cant stand the guy I get that image-wise he can be marketed towards the mainstream/casual crowd for nostalgia purposes but other than that, he's useless.
If a reunion imploded before it ever leaves the station and he goes for another reboot, I really hope he pays closer attention to who he brings in. I also hope whatever lineup is onstage the next time GNR tour is the final one. This late in the game the revolving door needs to close.
