Re: GnREvolution Chinese Democracy Elimination 2015 - Round 12
Maddy. If it was the Rio version I'd consider keeping it in. Its not though and out of the songs left this song has Axl's worst vocals.
Even though I disagree with you, well as far as voting this off before I.R.S and the title track. Here's Axl's explanation on the vocals for those that never saw it.

Wow can't believe it has been whittled down to these 4...
I've not been part of the process so I can't moan - but I distinctly remember back in the waiting days, with the exception of TWAT which we hadn't heard, people were pretty convinced Maddy, CD and IRS were far from the big guns we were all pipe dreaming of. For me Maddy and IRS were cringeworthy then and nothing has changed for me in that regard. I'm pretty sure I wasn't in the minority then either. TWAT is a missed opportunity while CD is the only thing approaching the finest moments of CD.
For me it's Better, Catcher and Prostitute with the rest a distant second...

Thank you for that. I haven't seen/heard that before. So, Madagascar is inspired by The Old Man and the Sea? Makes sense. But that's also ironic somehow, given how hard Axl tried to show everyone by bringing back his big fish (i.e. CD) for everyone to see. With the recpetion it got, it almost seems like he returned empty handed as well
