Re: GnREvolution Chinese Democracy Elimination 2015 - Round 5
I'm gonna start my battle with prostitute
Sappy bullshit tune that, imho, gets wayyy too much credit, as the closing track it feels like the album is limping over the finish line
I'll join you. Tough vote though, as I really don't dislike any of the songs left.
Re: GnREvolution Chinese Democracy Elimination 2015 - Round 5
As much as I lament the abomination that is the citr album version, I have to vote sorry as I just have to skip it on every listen.
Those lyrics just don't cut the mustard for that incredible Bucket smorgasbord on display. I wish he could have left the Slash hatred at the door when going into the studio but I do realize Slash leaving had a massive impact on his life so we were going to hear about it one way or the other.
Good to see you back jonesy.
Music is subjective of course and I wont slam anyone for liking certain songs but it amazes me that anyone could like the music being played on CITR and think it flows with his singing.
I'm shocked that OMG has lasted this long but I think its by default. Its sneakily climbing up the ladder because there's a handful of songs on CD that hardcore fans cant stand and they'll get rid of those before pulling the trigger on OMG. I know that as soon as a couple more get thrown out of this my sights are on OMG.

You're right on about the music on CITR. It absolutely doesn't flow with the vocals at all. It's obvious all the guitar parts were added in and the song suffers greatly because of that. It just isn't organic, free flowing or natural.
On OMG, I listened to it the other day and came away unimpressed. Honestly, the only parts I like are the chorus and maybe the guitar solo.

It's not my favourite but I do still like CITR, never got the hate for it. I honestly used to think it was just an excuse for BH fans to hate on Ron I see the cut n paste comments now but I still feel it's a better track than most seem to give it credit for. The 'not organic' comment is an intersting one as that's how I feel about large portions of the album, certainly can't be just aimed at CITR.
As for OMG it sounds like a car crash to me. Like some with CITR I don't feel the vocals or music flow with each other at all. The vocal melody is horrible IMO and the chorus is such a phoned in effort.
It looks like it'll go in the next round anyway so to that.
