They are separate stories with different characters.

However, I recommend S1, best TV in a long while, aside the ending, of course wink

I really liked the ending!

The outcome of this episode will determine whether I continue watching.

That was the best character on the show. I have no desire following the wooden, repressed-homosexual motorcycle cop and the determined feminist.

Seriously a wtf moment. They went game of thrones on us. I'm having a hard time getting into this season. Hopin if that ending is what it looks like then things suddenly take a more interesting turn. Just kinda seems like a normal cop show.

Rachael's character is really getting interesting. Motorcycle cop is gay. And repressed. There's going be some issue with the male prostitutes as he stood on the balcony leering at them. Which, apparantly, is why he's so angry, along with his PTSD.

Farrell really leaped forward this episode which really pisses me off. The series has not started well and the main issue is that we're following too many characters and it seems like it was a response to criticism that last season was too misogynistic. The writer is at his best when he's writing the way he wants and the story and characters he feels. This is what happens when you allow internet critics to dictate your art because they have thin skin and wide definitions on what's offensive. It doesn't have a clear enough story and central characters to really focus on the way we were able to last season. They spent two episodes setting up the plot, because the premise is so complex. The last two episodes should have been combined into one. And cut the motorcycle cop. He sucks and his story is just blah. Every time I see him I hear the CHIPS theme in my head.

Cop turned gay at broke black mountain. Something went down at whatever black mountain is. Too many key figures. So far weak story. Basic instinct level shit. Nothing more nothing less. Murdered sex addict that was a power broker in a shady deal. I feel it will get better soon. First episode was terrible.

Just catching up w/this thread, finally got to do e03 today. Lol@ you n00bs thought Farrell was ever going to be dead.

Inspite of its many flaws - slower pace, cliches, boring predictable character arcs, shit acting (Vince in that last scene deciding he couldn't trust his wife seemed like an eternity) - I'm actually enjoying it more than I thought.
After they've pulled the rug out & admitted to being a cop show (about corruption) rather than pack it w/red herrings & sci-fi/religious mumbojumbo, it's easier to take. it's a decent procedural cop show but I doubt it'll hit the heights of the greats. (Even tho it has for some stupid people).

Can't wait for Fargo s02 .
Hannibal is GOAT level or will be once it closes. This season's shaping up brilliantly (in no small thanks to Gillian Anderson) & we've already had epic kills - just not enough food! Best show.
