And he's been stroking Red publicly for some time now, too. Guess he feels they're kindred spirits as Pumpkins has also developed from a band to a frontman with his backing band.
I think Axl Rose is one of the best rock singers, ever. Period. Would be honored to write a song with him.

I loved the last Guns N’ Roses album, you know what I mean? And unfortunately when they were out touring on that record, I didn’t get a chance to see them. But I would have gone.
"I appreciate the position Axl was in and why he didn't wanna go," Corgan said. "I think he felt like he was being set up. He was wise not to go because he would've come out [looking] like a spoilsport. He didn't want to play nice with the old team. And he obviously has his personal reasons."
He added, "Also, the minute he gets up on stage with the original band, then everything else he does that isn't that… it's almost as if he's trying not do something and he's not been doing it for many years. So i can understand why Axl didn't want that put on him."

Very cool quotes from Billy. I'm a Pumpkins fan and him and Axl in terms of ego and vision have a ton in common; so it's no surprise that Billy is a fan of the man's work.

Yeah considering they're both completely neurotic & crazy, it's no surprise at all. I always found there are 4 levels of crazy in rock:
Level 1: Rivers Cuomo - sorta pretentious, artsy, I'm so hard to work with crazy.
Level 2: Billy Corgan - Truly compulsive, difficult, egotistical, feel bad for the bandmates crazy.
Level 3: Axl Rose - Batshit crazy, as we like to say around here.
Level 4: Syd Barrett - Ok, certifiably, institutionalized crazy, like doctors & shit.
So would Billy Corgan AND Axl surpass Barrett and reach a whole new echelon of crazy?!

On a serious note, I'd love to hear them duet together. Billy's breathy vocals plus Axl's rock screech would be interesting to hear.
