That was pathetic.

Why? Would you prefer no communication at all like we've endured in the past for literally years on end?

Actually, yes I would prefer that.

I'm with Will tbh, it's better than nothing. Not on the edge of my seat but at least there is some sort of intention of forward progress.

The update before this one:

"Generally speaking, at this time we have no information on tours, albums, or DVDs. When things get confirmed we will let you know. Thank you for your patience." - GnR Facebook & Twitter, 08/06/13

And now,

"we are putting together a game plan to give you what you need the most, information."

It's a change of pace, if nothing more.

And Fernando, we need new music more than information.

Yeah, I appreciate the attempt at trying to make us feel apart of this....but gnr never needed help making vague promises and statements about the future that something will happen, and something usually does happen, 1-3 years later.

My point is....it's follow through that they really need to work on. The small, surprise shows with quant audiences are such a great idea. For promotion and good will. For showing that axl isn't always just an ass hole. Ideas like that are golden. And the perfect venue to give snippets of new songs that would tease the fan base into a frenzy.

Yea.... That's what we need more of...

I'm with ID on this. No reason to really complain. Its a little nugget of info and we've had worse updates that's for sure. Besides, it's par for the course. People following the band as long as we have should not be shocked or pissed when these "updates" occur.

We're about to reach the 5 year anniversary of CD's release. I'm not surprised we've got a bit more waiting to do.

Apex is right. If any updates happen in the near future, it should be about a new song or details on a potential second album. It's all the hardcores really care about anyways. Nostalgia tours don't need updates from any "insiders" posting on GNR forums. That type of info can be posted on the official site, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

This, thank you.

Fernando dropping a line to say nothing, considering Axl has a Twitter. In 2013, unless Axl is deep in a bunker somewhere with iodine pills, listening to Art Bell and Alex Jones, surrounded by guns... I think the guy can Tweet every so often to his fans considering it is HIS FUCKING BAND.

Actually, I wouldn't be so sure. Remember the infamous tweet that appeared just a few weeks before the Reading/Leeds fiasco in 2010? "All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds." The Guns camp said Ax's account was hacked, but seriously - if we'd be talking about a more, erm, balanced artist like Trent Reznor, I'd be inclined to believe it.

But the bat-shit crazy Axl is easy to see as tweeting such a thing without a second thought while feeling down. If you look at his account, a lot of the more controversial tweets (like his Madison rant) have been removed. I wouldn't be surprised if Beta made him turn over his password to avoid such slipups in the future. Good for them, I say.

George Clooney recently offered some thought-out points on celebrity tweeting:

"If you’re famous, I don’t—for the life of me—I don’t understand why any famous person would ever be on Twitter. Why on God’s green earth would you be on Twitter? Because first of all, the worst thing you can do is make yourself more available, right? Because you’re going to be available to everybody. But also Twitter.

So one drunken night, you come home and you’ve had two too many drinks and you’re watching TV and somebody pisses you off, and you go ‘Ehhhhh’ and fight back. And you go to sleep, and you wake up in the morning and your career is over. Or you’re an asshole. Or all the things you might think in the quiet of your drunken evening are suddenly blasted around the entire world before you wake up." - Esq
