Re: U2 Producer tells Axl story
That's about all I know. I just learned about it this week myself. He had supposedly turned in the album and wanted it released a few months later and the label balked. MSL talks about it a bit on his board. It may have been part of the set of leaked band info that he got awhile back but he doesn't go into deep detail due to the sensitivity of the contents.
I believe him, and it sheds a whole new light on Axl and his plans and why we don't have more music.
They would have been touring both albums together by now.... Imagine that?
Thanks for the info and the material you were able to get smoke. Always appreciated. Very interesting details. I had a feeling Axl was going to do this and of course like you guys have mentioned...the dude needs to go independent. He has the money to get him out of whatever contract. 2010...going to keep that in mind. Maybe already added his parts in the studio to the recordings when Axl or management gave the CD to the big wigs. ..And calling it simply Guns N' Roses wouldn't be a bad idea either at the time or now if he truly wants to move forward with this band and not just tour. The weird thing is that it's been labeled as a trilogy by the man himself even Baz back in '07.

Re: U2 Producer tells Axl story
This and also...
I can guarantee that, being the album in the hands of the record company since 2010, we'd already have it leaked. A long, long time ago.
That's a very good point. There's a reason EVERY album leaks before it's release these days.
I would believe that Axl was basically ready to release then negotiations broke down with the label though over who pays for what and who will do what.
