My two main interests in life are Guitar and Home Cinema (well appart from women lol)....so i've been spending some time working on my new home theatre.

I want to do something more impressive one day - but as I'm trapped renting..there's only so much modification of the room I can do.

Anyway....I'm kinda pleased with the results...so i thought i'd share...in case anyone here is bored enough with their own life to care!!

If your interested the actual projection area is in 2.37:1 aspect - 200cm high x 474cm wide (Diagonal measurment 5.15m)

Finished Screen with 5th Element in Blu Ray:

Yeah sure...sorry not sure what happened to that link. This should work better:

The screen with nothing on:

And with a shot from 5th Element:

That's awesome. I just barely got into home cinema. I just have a 40 inch flat panel with a home theater in a box and bly ray player hooked up to it. However our living room is tiny and we don't sit that far away so the  minimal equipment works out good for us.

Cool...you'll find its strangely addictive!!! Or at least I did...one thing leads to another...and next thing you know your spending all your $ on new toys wink

No problems - I'm glad to show it off!!

My room is around 9m x 7m (29 feet x 22 Feet). The watchable picture is just under 17 feet.

In terms of pulling it up - I don't it's a fixed structure...which means my lounge room is now a dedicated home theatre room. So behind it is just the regular wall and windows and stuff.

You can see what the room is like here when it was just a frame:

And here is me standing in 2/3 of the frame:

http://tinyurl.com/2py4m9

And some more touches to the surrounding areas to make it a little more cinema like:

http://tinyurl.com/2s8r6o
http://tinyurl.com/36webt
http://tinyurl.com/2nvj5f

I'd love to do more...but renting makes it hard!

Here is a shot for the starwars fans: http://tinyurl.com/2t35tr (Shame I can't hold a camera still - made it all blury!!)

Anyways...what does it cost? Well this was made on the cheap for a fraction of what it would cost to buy a professional home cinema type screen. The total cost of this was around $AUD500 - not bad considering the size and that it has full curtains...would have been half that without the curtains.

Of course thats not including the cost of the projector and my home theatre toys...which are the kinds of things you can spend a little or a life-savings on depending on how fussy one is!
