Re: 2013 NFL Thread
Tebow is/was only a distraction in New York and that's because the Jets allowed him to become one. That team was terrible with or without him and has been a circus the last few seasons. None of that was Tebow's fault. He may have added to the freak show, but he wasn't a distraction in Denver when he was leading the team to the playoffs. You can debate whether he's a good QB or not, and I don't think he is. But if he's in the right situation, he's already proven he can be helpful to a team. If he's in a hopeless situation, he can't be a savior. Which can be said for pretty much every player in the NFL. He won't be a distraction in New England, mark my words.
Re: 2013 NFL Thread
So Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez seems to be at the center of a murder investigation. Never a good thing. Story is still developing but a body was found less than a mile from his house and a rental car linked to Hernandez is somehow connected. 2 men were escorted out of Aaron's home and taken into custody. He apparently is currently being questioned. Not much else is known at this point.
Re: 2013 NFL Thread
Not to be a dick, but he looks the part of a criminal. I honestly know nothing about him though, he could be a great guy
I get you with the look. He doesn't look wholesome and innocent. He did get caught smoking weed in college which hurt his draft status, but that certainly isn't a big deal. He does seem like a genuinely good guy from interviews and such. Who knows though. He could hang out with some questionable characters. I haven't heard many developments. Police left his house with a shoebox after a couple of hours.
Could it be the curse of Tim Tebow?

From what I've read, he's being uncooperative with the police and the police have already gotten a search warrant. Those things would concern me. He probably knows more about the crime than he's letting on.
Oh and there were other character concerns when he was coming out in the draft (not just the weed thing).

Apparently so, and they are seemingly rearing their ugly head's right about now. Today a story came out that a guy filed a lawsuit against Hernandez because he SHOT HIM IN THE FACE back in February. Because, THAT happens everyday.
There were other reports that he was being cooperative with police, they searched his house and left with a shoebox full of something. WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? They went back to his house today but nobody answered the door.
I hate to jump to conclusions, but none of this sounds very good at all. And people got mad at Gronk for partying and loving life. That's certainly better than this.

You know why Rex refused to put Tebow in last season when Sanchez got benched? He was terrified that Tebow would actually succeed. It's the same boat Elway and John Fox were in. There was no good reason they could dump him and they knew it. Manning was THE only way they could save face and dump him. Old Rex didn't have that luxury. If Tebow would have gone in and won those last games with a staggering 8-27 completions with 5 INT and 3 TD's and 5 rushing TD's... It would be a big old, "Uh oh, I'm stuck with Beaver Cleaver."
