Re: Alice in Chains
Thanks for sharing that, nugdafied, it's a cool song. A little different style than you usually hear from Layne, if there's a studio mp3 version floating around other than that Youtube vid. I've also been looking for the Class of '99 songs. I've seen the vids on YouTube, but again, unable to find an mp3. iTunes has them, but it's that 'Album only' crap.

Re: Alice in Chains
It's Coming After is kinda funny. Layne was really pissed about the song, somehow the guy from Second Coming fucked him over. I can't remember all the details I'll look it up when I get a chance.
Check your pms by the way CC!

Re: Alice in Chains
Do you guys prefer Layne without AIC (Mad Season) or Jerry's solo stuff (Boggy Depot, Degradation Trip)?
I'm a guitar nut, so I prefer Jerry's stuff purely for the great guitar playing, but Mad Season is pretty damn good too.
Boggy Depot is a bit hit and miss, and a bit more poppier than AIC, but Degradation Trip is music to kill yourself to (in a good way, if that makes sense! hehe).
Apparently Jerry went through some really fucked up times during the making of that album, and you can really hear it on some tracks, with how sombre the tone is.
I think some of the better songs on there easily stand on par with the best AIC stuff too.

Bargain Basement Howard Hughes is eerily Chanis-like. If you listened to it without knowing you'd swear it sounds like Layne in a few spots on the song. Solid album(s) (depending on the version you have).
Re: Alice in Chains
There's always been something about Layne Staley's death that makes me uneasy. I guess it's because he's the shining example of what addiction can do to a man. His death wasn't a burn out, but more of the ultimate fade away. So anyways, I found these pics on a website, I had never seen them before.
Here's a seemingly healthy Layne Staley during a sober period in '93 I think.
Here's an emaciated Staley in the late 90's(?).
