Re: Device (band)
David Draiman of Disturbed's new band project is about to release the debut album in a few weeks. Me and my bro were going to pick it up around that times. Features appearances of Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Tom Morello (RATM), Lzzy Hale (Halestorm (She's doing a cover of Lita & Ozzy's Close My Eyes)), M. Shadows, and many others. They posted a couple tracks from the album on the site as well as videos, dates, and other content. Seeing them live a couple weeks after the album comes out at Carolina Rebellion hopefully. Heard Vilify a little while ago and it's a solid track and hopefully I get to receive stronger material when the full release comes around.

I liked Vilify. It reminded me alot of Stupify, and it left me wondering if I would like any song sung by David Draimen as long as there was a word ending in "ify" in the chorus.
Re: Device (band)
I like this "band", but honestly Draiman solo (which is pretty much what this band is it), I honestly don't see much of a difference between this and Disturbed.
It's good, but honestly I kinda don't understand the concept of this band. They sound like Disturbed songs to me, and Villify is so close to Stupify, while listening to the radio, I said "wasn't this song released several years ago?".
Hearing Lzzy Hale cover Close My Eyes Forever was interesting, but gotta say man, as much as I love Lzzy... 1989 Lita Ford was a PIECE OF EPIC ROCK ASS man. Whew.

Re: Device (band)
Oh I definitely agree on that point. I still think Lita is sexy and has aged like fine wine after all these years. Lzzy gets the job done with this cover and hope to see her have even more success with Halestorm since that record was awesome. I really like this record; but my friend got it on CD and I told him about it before it came out and we usually jam to some of the songs in the car when we hang out. Tom Morello does some great guitar work on Opinion. Out of Line is another fav of mine. Well..Device features collaborations with Geno Lenardo who helped write most of the lyrics and did most of the keyboard, guitars, and electronic instrumentation. I think...! (or just session guys and David might be doing other things besides lead vocals) I'm not sure because the credits are very vague in the liner notes. ..and while some of the material sounds like Disturbed..to me..it shows David cutting loose on some tracks and experimenting with new sounds which for the most part works. The lyrics and production could of been worked and improved; but I'm a fan of this CD. I want to see them live. The only thing I disagree is that I don't see the music comparison of Vilify and Disturbed's Stupify besides the titles sounding similar. The music structure, instrumentation, and lyrics are vastly different from one another.
