I got Direct TV recently and have all the premium channels at my disposal for 3 months, well 1 1/2 now.  But Homeland was my first order of business.  Finished up with it the other day.  Good stuff.  A little crazy and unbelievable in parts, but what show isn't?

One more episode to go...this suicide bomber business is nuts....if the cause is so importantwhy don't the head honchos off themselves ?

It amazes me that these people inspire men with families enough that they can talk them into suicides....unreal

I recently got into this series a few months ago. My first reaction was this was basically a continuation of the premise started by 24. I was shocked to find out that the concept for this series was originally the idea Howard Gordon pitched for Season 6 of 24 after Jack Bauer was brought back from China, in an effort to reboot it.

Craziness. Turning Jack heel would've breathed so much life into the show later on, and it would've been insane the year after Kiefer won an Emmy for best actor. Total balls. Fox pussed out tho, because of "the movie" that never came to be.

Of course recently it was announced 24 was going to be revived by Fox, in large part to the lack of quality dramas on Fox since it's cancellation, and the fact of Homeland's massive success for HBO, has made them reconsider retooling 24 into a 12-episode cable-like series, with basically Homeland's premise but with Bauer.

Homeland itself is a quality show, and in alot of ways seems like a continuation of 24 with a different set of characters. Even the feel is similar.

All of the acting is absolutely stellar. SAUL IS THE MAN! And although I haven't watched more than a couple episodes of Season 2 so far, it's definitely a quality show.

Yeah, it is very similar to 24, which was one of my favorite shows of all time.  So it works for me.  Got into Dexter recently too and watched all 7 seasons.  It was a little slow at first and I didn't think I'd like it as much as Homeland, but I think it may have surpassed it.  Regardless, Showtime is where it's at for those 2 shows alone.
