He's a loony. He's always been and you can not expect him to be consistent.

I'd lose the remaining of my respect for the guy. 20%
I'd say man up and assume you want or need the other guys. 80%
I think it's for the best. Both Axl and Slash are better without each other. 0%
He spent his best years neglecting us from what we and him wanted all along. 0%

I agree with Russ - I see no way that will ever happen.

For the record I'm not saying it's likely.

But I like to think one day Axl might notice the people who have taken advantage of him.

In my hypothetical Axl keeps his behavior as it is (and will never change).

He wants the reunion on his terms and having the alumni under contracts. Good ones, but still contracts.

In that case I can't support it.

I'm up for a reunion where they're genuine friends again, where Axl get's control of what ever psychology currently cripples him, and things return to the lies era style of productivity.

Bringing the old guys into the band as contract players, where Axl has 100% say and control over everything is not only disrespectful to their contribution, but just going to lead to an anxiety-ridden Axl neutering them the way he currently holds back the potential of the current band.

Can't prove it yet...but I'm pretty sure when I saw dead dasies live that one of the riffs was based on fortus' solo spot in GNR....sooner or later everyone around Axl seems to desperately release solo material when they give up on anything happening...at the moment Slash is productive....i can't support him returning to GNR if it just means he gets put in a box like bumblefoot is.

Also...

Axl's management leveraged the other's desperation for drama free tours and drug addictions into giving Axl full control of the band.

If he was desperately trying to get them back as contract employees and sad that it couldn't happen....you'd have to ask the question that maybe they should be brought back on the terms that they once had...proper partners....

That, my friend, is NEVER going to happen. When there was concrete reunion plans it was on Axl terms and it almost happened, but back then VR was breaking down, Slash and Duff were both on drugs again and everything was a mess.

Things got sorted out and I'm kinda happy we didn't have a zombie band cash grab reunion tour.

By the way, remember Izzy referring to them as they were like zombies in stage in 93? I guess we'd had the same vibe.

I'm with Monkey (and Otto too - it ain't happening). The only way I'd ever care to see them back together is if they were friends on equal footing. (OK they can haze Matt or Steve if they really need to.)
