Jack White is cool, but he is not the guitar god people think. Slash live is much more fun. I am not a huge kid rock or jack white fan.

Re: Kid Rock Discussion

I enjoyed some of the songs off of Devil mostly Cowboy and Bwo. Great jams! I've heard other songs from his other albums over the past couple years and I thought they were ok. The song he did with Slash was cool. He is no Jack White though. Jack White's Blunderbuss as well as Elephant, WBC, and other collaborations he has produced blow KR's albums out of the water. ..and I'm not even a die hard fan either. Would love to see JWIII live though and check out Third Man. I've seen Kid Rock's performances live on TV and he is definitely a good singer and showman. Would love for him to branch and experiment more. Glad he's trying out Southern Rock vibes; but at times it sounds repetitive. Just my opinion.

I don't know man, he seems to experiment about as much as anyone.  Rap/rock, blues based rock, country, adult contemporary type stuff with Sheryl Crowe.  Not sure where else he could go.  Disco?  Show tunes?

See now... I don't see it as "experimenting" so much as "genre jumping to whatever's popular at the time"

I don't know, he seems to incorporate all elements on his albums these days.  It's not like he strays completely away from his roots or anything.  I'd call that experimenting.  It's a double edged sword if he's just looking to catch on to whatever genre is popular at the time.  He's opening himself up to a different fanbase, but at the same time could be pissing off some of the purists who are averse to drastic changes.
