You guys are lucky. They're banned in my city.

Good by me.
If they come through Detroit again, I'll be there.
Yeah, they always put on a good show.
Really wish they'd focus on new music instead though.

Where you at? St. Louis?
Not telling. But I knew someone at that concert.

They're playing in Lubbock, Texas on June 1st. That's a 2 hour drive from me. If this was 2006 and Axl's voice was in top shape, I would go. But sadly I don't think I can justify paying the money and driving that far to listen to the Mickey Mouse voice that we've heard so much of the last couple years.

I don't think they are touring as an excuse for not having time to do any recording.
I'm pretty sure the next album will be 99% ChiDem-era songs. And so it should be. At least in my POV.
Axl has talked about it being a "hard walk" in the US when it comes to nu-GNR. Maybe the last 2/3 years of US activity is a strategic move.
And now we most likely will see an official DVD/BluRay-release to further cement the new era into the general public.
And if we will see CDII later this year or sometime next year, it's not a bad plan going forward.

I wish the band would do alternate nights where one night is the nromal show in a 7000-8000 arena. The next night could be a "deep cuts" gig in a 2000 capacity venue so all of us blow hards could get to see the less popular tunes.
Imagine this as a set, just to hear some of these tunes again live would be such a buzz..

I would hope this is what they are attempting to pull off. It's the right direction for the current situation the band is in. So siked for that Bluray release and new tunes down the road.
