Give me new material with Axl and I don't care who's in the band.

Huge fan of Brain, but Frank is pretty cool to me.

Good for you, not good for me he`s mediocre at best both Brain and Josh will wipe floor with him any time.

I like Frank far better for GN'R than either Brain or Freese.

Same here! Even though I think the other guys are great drummers and Brain contributed some cool drum parts to the final cut of the album.

It ain't GN'R without Izzy, so I'd say "fuck that" to this hypothetical lineup.

Weird, but to each his own.

I used to talk up Brain over Frank too, but Frank won me over seeing him live. He's a really great rock drummer, and seems to combine both Matt's and Steven's styles into his own.

Brain is technically the better drummer, but I don't think he ever really fit with GN'R's style.

And yeah, Josh Freese is great too, especially the footage I've seen of him from touring with NIN.

Brain`s drumming impressed me when I saw them live in Istambul in 06. Dude`s phenominal very few drummers have combination of skill, feeling and groove like Brain yes, Josh is great too his drumming on Oh My God is one the best GNR drum tracks ever. As for current lineup and Frank, I have nothing against them ( though I strongly dislike DJ Ashba as a player but Ron and Richard compensate his lack of skills ) I saw them 3 times and they put on hell of a good shows while Frank is a solid drummer, he`s one dimentional and his drumming is n`t half as interesting and engaging as Brain`s or Josh`s for that matter. 02 and 06 lineups were much superior to current incamation.

Monkey, Tommy and Izzy and Richard would gel well together....in the end, to the public eye, Axl and Slash  is the only thing you need to sell the Gnr brand....I love the King of Beers but he is not what made that band/brand what it was...

YEah what makes the brand to the public was Axl's unique voice and Slash's unique playing.....that said though I think Duff is under appreciated in terms of what made the old school vibe. Moments of VR live had that GNR feel...it's something about the vibe those guys have together.

agree....Duff, Izzy, Axl and Slash were special.....saw 7 shows during that timeframe. I like the new band in certain ways....but, I LOVED and cherish the originals....they were magic.
