Re: Reno/Kenny Rogers Question
I am going to be in Reno 3/13 - 3/19 for a bowling tournament. I know there was somebody here (Rex maybe) that was from Reno and I offered to buy the first round if he has time to hang out. That offer still stands.
On Saturday Kenny Rogers is going to be there. I'm not a huge fan, but I like some of his songs. I'm thinking about going (something to do to get me out of the casino for a bit). Is it crazy to go see someone you think is ok for $60 or should I just suck it up and go since he's a legend (even if it isn't my type of music)?
Re: Reno/Kenny Rogers Question
Fuck Kenny Rogers at $60 bucks, no offense.
He literally played in my backyard, like spitting distance, a few years ago at that same price point.... pass. I just stayed home, drank, got high, and sang Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town all by myself.

So does the fact that I don't know that song add to the case for not going?
Re: Reno/Kenny Rogers Question
Depends how much $60 is to you. If it has no consequence on your spending abilities that month, sure why not.
The money isn't an issue. I'm not rich, but I can afford $60 for a concert...I'd lose more than that at the tables if I didn't go to the concert.

what.
$60 for 'just dropped in' is prob fair enough tho.
but if i paid $60 & he didn't play that song then i'd be disappointed & $60 short. it's a risk.

In fairness, I haven't sat down and really analyzed Kenny's recent singing, but he did release a decent single a few years ago (Superman something), and vocally he still seems to be there.
It comes down to what you want to see in your life at this point. $60 bucks for Kenny in a small town, small venue seemed high at the time (2009) to me.
I'd just rather drop $60 bucks on cruddy Alice In Chains/Stone Sour seats than good Kenny Rogers seats in 2013. jmho
Re: Reno/Kenny Rogers Question
Still haven't decided what to do about this. I get the feeling that I will find other stuff to do instead and just end up skipping it. The only way I'll probably go is if I'm completely bored, and since there's gambling there, that's unlikely.
Re: Reno/Kenny Rogers Question
Just now saw this. I'd definitely be down to drink a beer with ya, but I'm workin both jobs that day! If I were you, I would just go to the show. To me, there's nothing like seeing a legend doing what he does best. Then again, I don't listen to Kenn Rogers at all.
