Re: Original Heart lineup may reunite at Rock Hall
Great pick. My parents own the Essential; so I just borrowed it and put most of it on my computer for the time being until I get a new placement for my music and movies. Thanks for posting that version of Alone. Love the original version; but that vid showed Ann as a power house of a vocalist. She did a cover of the Immigrant Song and listened to it on VH1 with a solo backing band and it was fantastic.
Re: Original Heart lineup may reunite at Rock Hall
I was first exposed to 80s Heart, so I love Alone and that whole period of songs. Their earlier stuff is flat out awesome, though like you I've never been a huge fan. Not sure why.
Their chops as a Zeppelin cover band are also awesome. I don't know enough about their history to know how good or bad or big a deal an original reunion is, but now I have some wiki diving to do at work tomorrow.
I was also first exposed to 80s Heart. Mainly because MTV beat that "These Dreams" video into the GD ground when I was a kid. I always enjoyed it, plus in those days, along with Michael Bolton, literally every woman with a pulse loved them.
Then I tried out 70s Heart.... eh, never made the transition. Barracuda, if I never hear that song again for the rest of my life, i'll die happy. Mainly radio ruined a great song, or i'm just weird, I hated it. I listen to select cuts from their earlier albums from recommendations and still just wasn't digging it.
I honestly didn't dig much of Heart outside of that 80s self-titled album. I tried to listen to some subsequent albums, and was just bored.
I think my love of Heart just boils down to that one off 80's Heart album.
