Re: Jack White Discussion
With the previous bad news, I was able to listen to some of the b sides to some of the singles Jack released online. Love is Blindness is simply amazing!
Re: Jack White Discussion
Jack contributed to & acted in the otherwise craptacular Cold Mountain by that now dead crappy English guy who did the crappy The English Patient. His 4 songs on the OST were class a mix of ancient covers & originals. One of them was ESP awesome but I can't rem what it was called atm!!

i love the guy but he's completely wrong in his beliefs re videogames - he sounds like a grumpy old fart who obviously has never known the BEAUTIFUL joys of playing super mario.
fuck you jw! videogames are just as valid a culture as your precious books/film or music.
Re: Jack White Discussion
it's light-hearted but he means what he says about videogames. i just thought it was a little disappointing he had to diss videogames while trying to get his point across (tho what he said about going onto forums & disagreeing w/him was completely otm lol!).
im just a little sensitive to people who criticise videogame culture & don't see it as as legitimate an art as old forms of media.

Re: Jack White Discussion
Hadn't read that yet and I'm off to do so now.
On a positive note about JW; I found out yesterday that I'll be in Nashville for work during August which means I get to go to Third Man Records in person!
EDIT-
Wait. You're not talking about anything he's saying in that video are you? Because all of that is a joke.
Lucky. Hopefully you'll get to meet the man himself and get your copy of Blunderbuss and vinyl singles signed.
Re: Jack White Discussion
There's no beauty in sitting for hours playing video games (anyone proud of that stop reading now and post your opinion in the nearest forum).

I can understand where Jack is coming from due to his perspective and unique lifestyle; but video game designers should be just as respected as musicians nowadays. They are bringing forms of entertainment to the people and trying their best at it. Some companies & in music bands/artists can release bad games like bad albums; but both can learn to adapt and make stronger products over time with the right production team.
