Said Axl was 2 hours late one night so he could finish watching a Sunday Night Football game. Said he was a big gambler.  Said all the crew was so pissed. He had to be at another job at 5:30 am...  Thought it was interesting.

I actually went to David Usher concert once and they had the Edmonton Oilers games on the big screen above the stage. It was tied late in the third period and all eyes were on the screen when suddenly the screen turned off. The crowd booed. About 1 minute went by and the screen came back on and the game went into overtime.  Dallas scored about 4 minutes into the overtime and immediately the screen went off and he lights went out and the show started. They had actually waited for the game to end. Not for the benefit of anyone in the band mind you but for the crowd 16

Based on the fact that no concrete reasons have ever been given as to why Axl makes the crowds wait and given that even BBF seems to have no  clue as to why fans are left to wait so long and eems as frustrated about it as we are I'd say the chances of this story being true are vastly superior to them being "absolute bullshit".  Until Axl wants to give a true answer and stop bullshitting as to why he goes on stage so late then anything goes. More than likely things like this probably happen way more than we think when it comes to Ol' Axl. He doesn't care when he goes on so if he's ready and it's 9:30 and a game he is watching is still on of course he's going to fucking wait till it's over. He has no regard for the fans when it comes to this issue so to dismiss this instantly as "absolute bullshit" based on "lack of evidence" is incredibly naive in my opinion.

In 2010 for the Porto Alegre show, that was scheduled to 9:30 PM and started only by 1:00 AM of the next day, by 10:00PM he was still in Sao Paulo having dinner with Ellen Jabour.

He left Sao Paulo around 11:30 PM and basically arrived in Porto Alegre at the stage. One of the opening acts basically left because of that, the other played only three songs, Baz played his normal set.

Everybody blamed Rio storm and bureaucracy for forensics, but later on the dinner news came out from Ellen herself.

Well, the Budapest show in 2006 was scheduled for 9:00 PM. They started to play the intro at 11:55 PM. The event's organizator later said that Axl arrived to the Budapest airport at 10:30 PM and a bunch of policemen secured his way to the arena to avoid the riot. Axl spent a bit more time in Milano than the band. Then he needed a little rest after the flight.

Axl does care about the fans. 13

i would beliee any of these stories.

from a distance it seems to be the case axl really revels in the freedom of his job. that he believes in the freedom of rock n roll to o what he wants p much when he wants to do it.

in a way i almost respect his treatment of the fans. at times it really does look like he does not give a shit about anyone bar himself. & you gotta respect that, especially the level he takes it to.

i mean i might be wrong & he might just be a nut & these stories embellished but at the same time i am envious of his freedom & attitude.

However, that is to be expected as that has to be the hardest Gnr song to sing EVER....hands down. Bad ass vid and a bad ass band. I think ol Buzz was there...

If you're referring to the Chicago show...indeed I was.  I have to say that I've been pretty fortunate setlist wise the 2 times I saw GnR.  I didn't feel like I missed out on anything that I wanted to hear either time; in fact I think the Chicago show was one of if not the best setlist they ever did on the UYI tour.

What I found funny was the implication Axl had gambling issues. Sounds plausible. This was in a big radio show out of LA.. I think LA, I heard it live because its Syndicated.  You can probably look up the interview.
