Re: What do you pay for GNR shows in the USA?
$50? $85?
Wow...i'm getting fucked hard down under
What about meet and greet add ons? Anyone purchase one of those?
Actually don't feel too fucked. In 2006 I paid near $100 a seat to be next to the stage, and wasn't that close. They were pricey in 2006 imo for a band that wasn't playing setlists near as long as they're doing in the last few years.

Re: What do you pay for GNR shows in the USA?
The interesting thing is why the meet and greet costs more.
The actual show I can understand....it's expensive to tour here - we have the same land mass as the USA but only like 4 or 5 cities to host a show in.....not to mention the 20 hour flight to lug all that equipment over.
But I'm a little unsure why a photo op costs $80USD over there and $180USD here.....

I'm not sure why anybody would even bother paying extra to meet anyone in the band besides Axl, honestly.
And of course the only meet and greets Axl does after shows are for the 19-year old whores that want to brag that they sucked his dick.

It isn't like that much as changed, other than pyro.
Now they are bands main source of income.
That's the exact reason I would venture to guess. Back in the day bands could prosper off of album sales AND touring. Now touring has moved far ahead of album sales, thus, the higher prices. Plus, pretty much everything is more expensive today than it was 20-30 years ago. Common inflation across the board.
