I love Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but almost hate this song. yikes

Can't wait to hear their new album, but the single isn't convincing at all.

Really? Aww man that and Dig Lazarus Dig are the songs that got me into Nick Cave.
Yeah I heard the new song very laid back by their standards.

What's your favorite song?

It's impossible to choose one. I love the whole "No More Shall We Part" album, but "The Boatman's Call", "Murder Ballads", "Let Love In" and "Henry's Dream" are really strong records, too. My biggest favourite songs would make more than an album, I can't make an order... From Her To Eternity, The Mercy Seat, Mercy, Do You Love Me, Let Love In, Red Right Hand, Stagger Lee, O'Malley's Bar, Song of Joy, There Is a Kingdom, (Are You) The One That I've Been Waiting For?, As I Sat Sadly by Her Side, And No More Shall We Part, Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow, Oh My Lord, The Sorrowful Wife, We Came Along This Road, Get Ready for Love, Supernaturally, Lie Down Here (& Be My Girl)... there is many

What are yours?

These The Mercy Seat versions are phenomenal, check them!

yea big Nick Cave fan here
tho still haven't heard the new one yet

he's gotta couple of masterpieces in his albums & songs - the boatman's call, junkyard & of course abattoir blues/lyre of orpheus which is prob song-for-song his truly greatest collection.

i didn't really like dig lazarus dig! & thought the grinderman releases were uneven but contained some of his greatest songs.

fave songs would be like:
palaces of montezuma
big jesus trash can
the ship song
people ain't no good
no pussy blues
get ready for love
breathless
o children
lime tree arbor
mercy seat
where the wild roses grow

i saw him live only the once & only at a festival but he was really great fun wanna catch him again

i also LOVE his book The Ass Saw the Angel. it's real south america gothic stuff stuffed w/demented kids & crazy preachers/people. haven't read his newest one tho.

his film work is stellar too - the proposition one of the best westerns of recent times.

Really enjoyed the first book, was a tad let down by The Death of Bunny Munro. Worth reading because of Cave's style, but a bit shallow and predictable, I felt.

Do track down Ghosts of the Civil Dead, Hillcoat's debut feature with Cave as one of the leads.
