Re: Guns N Roses vs Rush (Final Round - Vote Now!!)
Regardless of what happened in the poll till now, I think GN'R wins this one by a country mile. I like Rush a great deal so I'm not just bashing Rush but GN'R just destroys them IMO.
Agreed. I'm not a die hard Rush fan; but I appreciate their musicianship and alot of their albums are really good (Clockwork Angels has some great production work on there); but Appetite and UY1&2 have the upper hand on this poll by having more songs that I love and Axl's voice trumps Geddy's any day of the week. I'll give it to Guns on this one. I'm hoping to see both acts live some day soon.
Re: Guns N Roses vs Rush (Final Round - Vote Now!!)
GnR should win this hands down, but then again they shouldn't be here in the first place. I didn't look at the brackets, but I'll assume Rush shouldn't be there either.
This reminds me of how my band was defeated in the fantasy band contest.
Ok - now to the real subject...why do GnR fans feel so insecure that they need to rig polls like this in their favor? Isn't just knowing the band you love is great enough? Does rigging the vote make other people love them more? What's the point?

The Rush bracket was a lot weaker. The two best bands in that bracket went against each other in the first round (Floyd and Metallica).

You're taking it way too seriously and care way too much. But I'll say one thing, I'd bet money on the fact the people who rigged it in Gn'R's favour are the types who think current Gn'R rules and are way better than classic Gn'R.
I voted Gn'R obviously. Classic Gn'R at least is a kickass rock band. Rush though is so often used as a punch line to a joke.

Every time I hear a Rush song, I die a little more inside.

Yep. Couldn't say it better myself. It reminds me of all those little girls voting for the Backstreet Boys over N'Sync on TRL all those many moons ago. It's kind of embarrassing.

I don't really see any problem with it. Although I guess you could argue if GNR continues to win "Tour of the Year" year after year, that could give them a false sense that they're doing the right thing. But this is simply a fun little contest where you can vote for your favorite band. It's clearly not a contest to vote for the BEST band, at least I don't think most people treat it that way. You vote for your favorite. If they win, great. If they don't, no big deal. It's not like this will make or break any one band. I don't think anyone actually views it that way. At least I hope not.
With all that being said, it appears Rush fans are way more crazy than GNR fans. They're winning by a healthy margin right now after GNR jumped out to an early lead.
