As for the comment about his skin in slash's song, rather than a complex it could also be that being a redhead and living in LA might be a problem, I'm not a redhead but I'm very pale and I know I'd be forced to be entirely nocturnal if I lived there. As it is here in Australia I usually have to wear all kinds of get up in summer to not get cooked....I just don't tan....burn then back to sheet white. I get sunburnt in like 5 minutes outside in summer. It's really stupid.

However, I'll give bono it's obvious he's had a few things done. His teeth have changed since the 90s, and around the eyes too.
The irony to me is that this kind of negative attention to how he looks is probably what drove him under the knife originally, and now it makes people comment more.
