Re: What Is The Saddest Song Ever Written? (RS Article)
Again I find Fix You uplifting rather than sad. The Scientist though definitely a sad song, one of my friends a few years ago had the Scientist as he and his girlfriends song, it was not pretty when they broke up and it got played on the radio!
Early coldplay were fucking awesome. After disk number 2 they started to become a pop band, but for a moment there, they were awesome.

Shit, how could I forget. "In my secret life" Leonard Cohen. So very very sad, because it's true of just about everyone in the western world, and somewhat pathetic.

Listened to a couple "sad songs" on the way home from work today due to the days events.
Velvet Revolver "Messages" - That song always gets me. Slash's guitar alone is so soulful it evokes great emotion.
Alice In Chains - "Don't Follow"
Pantera - "Hollow" - Well at least for the first 3 minutes.
Billy Vera and the Beaters "At This Moment"

The song Black Gives Way to Blue reeks of tough emotions from Jerry and the boys. Also Sir Elton John plays a beautiful piano piece over the song.

It's a sad music video paying tribute to a fallen brother in arms of music.

Jeff Buckley "Forget Her" Amazing song
I could name a bunch of Jeff Buckley songs. His cover of, "If You See Her, Say Hello." is so emotional. Great pick, D.

Not sure how you can have a sad song list without the saddest band of all time:
1. Trust - The Cure
2. Treasure - The Cure
3. This is a Lie - The Cure
4. Apart - The Cure
5. Pictures of You - The Cure.
I just heard this again the other day listening to Backspacer clips... GREAT fuckin' call on PJ's The End. Wish they did more of those throwback mid-90's PJ songs.
