^ I just put on a friend's facebook that I know Billy Joel is gonna come out, do New York State Of Mind, and get the cheap applause from the home crowd, but I can't imaging having to follow that.

Yeah that's just insane. The only thing I could imagine topping it might be an explosive Paul McCartney-fronted Nirvana medley or something totally off the wall happening that would top that Who performance.

That totally brought the house down. Amazing how good those guys remain to be, even if just live performers, at their age. No wonder Vedder was so hugely influenced by them.

I can't say what I'm thinking right now any better than Jim Norton just did on Twitter.

@JimNorton

The beauty of Kanye West is that he's too stupid to know he can't follow The Who.

@JimNorton

If Kanye West understands anything, it's that wearing a skirt takes the focus off a shitty song.

Alicia Keys and Kanye West were completely and totally misbooked for the show. I get that Alicia Keys comes from New York, but the entire card was like 90% rock.

The crowd comes across as a rock crowd. Kanye is over (for most of us we never really cared to begin with), he is NOT a rock guy no matter how much he tries to channel Axl wearing dresses, and him dating Kim K has pretty much buried him further.

I'm not saying this to hate on the guy, I literally have no clue how he gets invited to these things anymore. If you are calling him, why not call Boys II Men? That's how over Kanye is.

Right now Sir Paul and his band are kicking ass. Played my favorite Wings song, 1985. Helter Skelter was rock'n!

Not a fan of Chris Martin, or Coldplay at all, but that intro, and performance with Michael Stipe was great!

Loved the dig at One Direction! 14

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Coldplay either but Chris Martin seems like a good dude.  He did have some funny lines there.  He's been on Stern too, and came off well.  That goes a long way in my book.

I'm not a big fan of Coldplay; but I dig most of their music. Easy listening to me. Nothing too out there when it comes to their style.
