Re: What Is The Saddest Song Ever Written? (RS Article)
counting crows - colorblind
rem - i'll take the rain
sinead o'connor - one more day
no doubt - don't speak (yes, i said it)
audioslave - the last remaining light
blink 182 - i miss you
evanescence - my immortaloff the top of my head
I love My Immortal and it's one of those songs that you can just listen to and enjoy the music; but on those days the song can be quite sad.

Actually. And I know -D- will agree here. "Lie to me" Bon Jovi is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard.

Yeah, Lie To Me is an awesome song, as is the whole These Days album, and it's definitely a sad track.
Absolutely love Jon & Richie's vocal harmonies, just pulls on your heartstrings...

Lie To Me is so, so sad. That's another one that gets me to tears if I'm in the wrong mood. We have vinyl listening parties every couple of months and near the end of the last one I'd switched to playing 45s instead of LPs. While going through them I got to Bon Jovi and someone said "OH! Pick out a great Jovi song to spin!". All I had was This Ain't A Love Song and Lie To Me so I had to tell them no based on the fact that I'd drank enough so that I would cry during either
Oh I hear you. It's a terribly heart wrenching song, who hasn't been in a situation close to that at some point. Gives me the shivers.
Behind Blue Eyes - dare I say it even the Limp Bizkit version.
Also Forever Autumn from The War of the Worlds soundtrack.
