Funny, I love the sax in Bruce's songs. Clarence Clemons (RIP) was an awesome saxophonist.
I'm saddened that I never get to see him play live with Bruce before he passed away.
My favorite Bruce song is Santa Claus is Coming to Town. He rocks the sax in that song.
Re: Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band to tour in ‘12
I had a chance to go see him when I was in Chicago and passed. It's not really my thing though I do like some of his songs. From what I understand he plays quite a few deep cuts and I would be more bored with that than I was with the solos at the GnR show. I just don't like enough of his stuff to shell out the kind of money a ticket costs. I'd go if the price was right, but even then I wouldn't have high expectations.
Yeah I saw Bruce years ago and almost fell asleep during some of those deep tracks. Granted, the 15 beers or so probably had a lot to do with that, but still. I wasn't a huge fan either, but I don't remember tickets being outrageously priced, so it seemed like the right thing to do. And other than almost falling asleep, it was a good time. At least I can say I've seen him.
On a related note, Bon Jovi is touring and they're playing a show at the Mohegan Sun. Some of my friends have expressed an interest in going but the cheapest tickets are over $140. I've seen Bon Jovi once before, so I'm not about to fork over that kind of coin to see them again. They were good, but they weren't THAT good. Ticket prices are insane.

And that's the thing...it's not that I can't afford to go, I just can't justify spending that kind of money on something I'm only marginally interested in. I would have spent whatever for tickets to the GnR show in Vegas because it was something I really wanted to see. I would spend whatever for a reunion show (and go wherever I had to for an early show before the rest of tour got cancelled). I'm not cheap and I'm more than willing to spend some money, but not that kind of money for something I'm not that into.
