Agreed. Steven called them a bunch of hacks and scabs as well. That's not cool, which is weird because DJ once as in Adler's Appetite.

But they've all stayed pretty cordial to each other. Ron talks up Slash & Bucket, Tommy seems to have mad respect for Duff and vice versa, they all get along with Izzy, and there was some awards show awhile back where Slash & DJ got along.

Even with the new band, this STILL only comes down to one thing --- axl vs. 21

Nothing's changed.

My only gripe is the comment about the old members bagging on Axl in the press...I ask it all of the time....WHERE?...PLEASE SHOW ME...

My first thought was Steven.

Of course.  He was not even subtle about it.  He was asked about his comments post-RRHOF recently by Rollingstone, too.

Steven called them a bunch of hacks and scabs. That was extremely un-cool.

The guys in the band referred to insults against Axl by the old band, not against them. Steve is guilty for sure, but did anyone take him even remotely seriously?

I figured they were throwing out the standard stab at Slash, Duff and Matt for gutting Axl in the press which I am challenging by looking for that material.

My recollection is that Izzy and Matt said the worst things to the press about Axl. The others said the usual stuff about hangers on and a lack of respect. Let's put it this way, nobody was calling Axl a cancer.

Ron seemed to have taken Steven's comments serious. And Gilby saying it isn't GN'R and "the incident at Axl's front gate" puts Slash in a bad situation with whatever he says about Axl.

Ahh. The incident at the front of the gate.

Where AXL released to the press an alleged private conversation between Slash and Beta...that just happened to be full of insults about VR. How is that not firing back? He basically used the press to try and break up VR!

Meanwhile it is AXL who has called Slash a cancer (when Slash's mum died of it no less) and AXL who has said Slash should have quit gnr after afd, and that he lacks inspiration in his playing - TO THE PRESS.

All slash has done in public is stop apologising for Axl's late starts, no shows and general timeframes and said he always found it disrespectful to the audience and the band.

It's a fair point that Steven's been rude in the press, but Duff/Slash are always very diplomatic, meanwhile Izzy bagged the living hell out of Axl in more than one interview...and he's fine to come out on stage with the modern band.

The only thing Axl seems to have a problem with Slash is how he retells the story of how/why he left the band and all the stuff that went along with that like the recording of the album that never happened, and how the name was handled. Axl is adamant that he is lying about this and it was an attempt to hurt Axl in a myriad of ways. That seems to be Axl's problem from what I can tell.

It's not the first time someone besides Axl has called Slash a liar (Josh Todd, Jetboy). I'm not saying anything Axl has said is cool, just pointing out what Axl seems to be standing steadfast about and that Slash's credibility was hurt with that incident.
