CANDLEBOX To Release Live Album In April - Mar. 3, 2008

The reunited CANDLEBOX will release a new live album, entitled "Alive in Seatttle", on April 1. A live concert DVD, also entitled "Alive in Seattle", is expected to be made available this year.

CANDLEBOX entered the studio this past December to begin work on its fourth studio album and first for Silent Majority Group. The band featuring original members Kevin Martin, Peter Klett and Scott Mercado will announce a new bass player soon.

CANDLEBOX last year made two songs '” "Stand" and "Surrendering" '” available for streaming via the band's MySpace page (the tracks have since been removed). Both cuts are expected to appear on the as-yet-untitled new CD, tentatively due later in the year.

Rhino Records in May 2006 released "The Best of Candlebox", featuring all of the single releases from CANDLEBOX's previous three albums as well as a few additional album tracks and the song "Glowing Soul", which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie "The Waterboy".

CANDLEBOX: New Album Title Revealed - Apr. 17, 2008

CANDLEBOX is scheduled to release its new studio album, "Into the Sun", mid-July via the independent music label Silent Majority Group, headed by Jeff Hanson, who has managed groups such as CREED and SEVENDUST. The group's new single, "Stand", will go for radio adds in mid-to-late May.

Silent Majority Group offered CANDLEBOX a 50/50 deal, which vocalist Kevin Martin said means the band gets equal say on its music and input on album production and artwork.

Fan-filmed video footage of CANDLEBOX performing one of the new songs during the band's March 25, 2008 concert at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California can be viewed below.

Re: Candlebox

I have Candlebox's first album, which I like quite a bit. I'll have to check this out when the single is released. Are they going to tour? Would be a good summer show.

Re: Candlebox

Anyone pick up Into The Sun? It came out yesterday, and like most of Candlebox's discography, seems to be getting so-so reviews. I will go get this at some point I'm sure, Candlebox's Self-titled and Lucy are both good records, and I liked the single Stand. I'd love to read a fan review from one of you guys if you get around to listening to it in the next week or so (provided someone is interested).

Also, there's an iTunes bonus track that I hope someone, uh, listens to and tells me about.

I'm going to that Thursday at the Square show. That's a pretty big thing in Buffalo, one of the few free things the city has to offer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thursday_at_the_Square

Re: Candlebox

I bought this today and although I still have a few more tracks to listen to I am loving it. This could be my favorite album of 2008 so far (keep in mind, Blind Melon's disc came out this year, and I'm a nut about them). This is pretty much what you'd expect from Candlebox, no big growth on their past work, but it rocks without fail. The guitar stuff is very good, the bass and drums get a nice groove going on a couple tracks, and Kevin's vocals sound as young and strong as ever.

Anyone who likes Lucy should go get this. And hopefully someone can track down the iTunes only track...
