My dogs are my family members, too, so I can absolutely understand her, although it's a rare human decision from a star.

I get choked up thinking about what life will be like when I lose my boy and he's only 6. Hoping he has a good 8-10 years left but just thinking that he could go any day makes me teary.
It probably sounds silly to most people, but neither me or my girlfriend have ever had any desire to have kids, so Elliott (our dog), is what makes us a family instead of just being a couple

i don't care for dogs. i find this less understandable than missing a gig cause you wanted to watched a basketball game or were eating dinner. those impulses/decisions are more 'human' to me than caring for a fucking dead animal. i do get it, in that these things are inherently selfish, but i don't see why you'd have to miss your work for any of those reasons.
but that's me. i don't 'get' dogs.
or pets.
i guess i'm more superhuman.
