Re: Axl Rose - USA Today interviews
Mikka, they are all full of shit. I don't know why it bothers you so much ..still....at this point. I am so over analyzing what they say or supposedly said. I honestly don't care and can't understand why others do after all these years.
You are right, that they are lying time to time, or giving shady interpratations. But. I'm sure that the online fanbase only made it worse, since even the lies got spinned.
Although I sometimes get very emotional about this nonsense, it's more of a hobby for me, to see it (past and present) as clear as I can.

This is what's wrong with GnR today:

Take a look at the 9 pictures. Sorum and Gilby are featured while nobody in the new band is (though if you look really carefully at one of the pics you might see one or two of them blurred in the background).
This band can never move forward until they can overcome this perception. Everyone thought it would change when CD was released, but it hasn't. I know, you die hards want to blame the media for this, but the media isn't doing anything that the general public doesn't think already anyway. It's great that the new guys are doing these interviews for local tv and getting their pictures taken by signs in Vegas, but nobody really cares. Nobody is seeing them outside of the forums.
I'm not suggesting they give up, but it might be time to change strategies. Whatever they are doing isn't working.
Re: Axl Rose - USA Today interviews
Good interview, nice to get more of an insight into his frame of mind during those years making CD.
Funny he mentions wandering around Vegas on his own, I remember a lot of the rumoured sightings of Axl during those years were of him being spotted around Vegas, I remember one was from a card dealer in a casino or something and he said Axl was in by himself and he was saying things like, once the money and success dries up, the women and the people you thought were friends soon disappear along with it.

Axl's fault. He is a day late and a dollar short as far as promoting his new band....should have been doing that in 1998!
Re: Axl Rose - USA Today interviews
i do tend to agree w/SkyDog in that you shouldn't take what they say as exact one-for-word truth of what was said/inferred.
& @ this stage, apportioning blame is meaningless. unless slash apologises for everything axl thinks he did wrong then it's a stalemate.
now, having said that i'll go and contradict myself & say i thought it was interesting when axl said,
There's such a loss of time.
i'm glad he recognises this.
however, his apparent lack of urgency seems to suggest he feels otherwise. or, is it that he's so confident in 'the vault' he's willing to play hardball w/the next release re: the label? or is it he's so lacking in confidence he's unwilling to move on??? or just the $$$??

I guess I never respected or cared what the online fanbase thought. Honestly, I think the majority of online Gnr fans are idiots. That is why I settled here. We are idiots just slightly less than the rest of the pack!
