Maybe but as was pointed out, Slash, Duff and Matt wrote alot of stuff thinking it was for GNR and found out that it wasn't.

DJ & the guys are currently in the same boat and only when its on CDII and in Tower, will we know whether they actually were writing for GNR.

Correct.  He pretty much confirms that people are writing stuff.  We all figured they were...they are all musicians.  Most musicians write stuff.  Nothing he said indicates they were together writing stuff for GnR or anybody was writing with him for GnR.

Again, a matter of semantics.  Slash WAS writing for GNR back in the day.  He brought the stuff to Axl, Axl was willing to work on SOME of it.  Slash took the stuff and used it for Snakepit, so it didn't end up being used in GNR.  But that was the original intention.  The same thing is going on here.  Sure, we don't know for sure what will be used for GNR in the future, if any.  But to say they're not writing for GNR until the material is released is a little extreme.  Obviously a lot of work goes into creating an album worth of material and it takes much longer than the day it's released.

Writing for GN'R and Axl liking it doesn't mean shit either. Axl liked some of Slash's songs, yet they didn't make an album together. Axl liked some of the stuff Finck/Tobias/BH/Tommy/Josh sent him, yet it took a decade to release 13 of them and most of the music they were working on was scrapped or still in the vault in quiestionable finished form. DJ's writing songs? Cool. Wake me up when there is a release date.

To be fair he did say the next album would take less time, so I have 2018 as the over/under date.

Depends on how you see it. We don't know if he thinks CD took 17 years (from UYI), 12 years (Slash's departure), 10 years (first stable new line-up) or 2 years (most of the songs were written 1998-2000). Or anything else. So if it comes out no later than 2024, he'll be right. Also, it's not a promise, a lie or a gurantee. 16

Well, he WAS talking about new music for GnR and SAYS all the guys are writing. To then go to the extreme opposite and conclude that "he pretty much confirms that people are writing stuff" and assume it's not something we should believe untill we hear it on an album with credits proving he/them are telling the truth, seems a little too sceptic. Yeah, I know....history etc etc.

I look at it like this, he's saying straight out that the members are writing stuff for GNR. Some of it may be used and some will prolly go in the vault. Even if the next album is all CD-session material, the songs could have stuff that the current members has written in the last couple of years.

This makes no sense. 16

Whether or not a song makes an album, Slash was writing music for GN'R and it doesn't matter whether it was used or not. When you write a song from conception for the sole purpose for using it in the band you're in, you're writing for said band.

Judging if someone is writing music for a band, only if the music is used on an album, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

If Slash was indeed writing for that band, wouldn't that band control the rights for that music?  I would think so.  If he's just writing music that might be considered by the band, then he's not writing music for the band.

Your whole obsession with the whole situation and not being willing to admit you're wrong is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.
