I think minus "The Blues" these are the best lyrics to any song... the band in any incarnation has ever done, anyone agree/disagree...?

I think this is the ONLY new song that could have a chance to be old band quality if Axl could get over himself and let the solo shine at the end. The lyrics aren't special and the music isn't very creative, but the solo at the end gives it a chance if you could actually hear it clearly over all the shit going on.

I disagree. I love the music and I like the lyrics alot. I'd really like to know exactly what the tune is about personally.
The solo is good but I think it's a mix of everything that makes that ending great. I love the repeating "There was a time, do you want to know it all" in the back, I like the drum beat and I love the orchestrations.
The thing that takes it over the top and makes it one of my all time faves is Axls incredible vocal on it.
yeah i think the outro solo with the chorus screamed in the background by the master, axl rose, complimented each other very well. i i too think it is a masterpiece and would have fit on UY1 or 2 hands down. but i hope they went one way or the other on the final version. i thought the first leak was missing an intro but the second was missing a bit of firepower and the effects at the beginning didn't quite fit.

Great song, and the lyrics are amazing. Again, its Axl at his best. Of course the music is good, but the way he lets everything out in the song, gives me chills everytime I hear it.

Sorry I'm a little late - I realise this is an old topic but I was personally unimpressed by the song.
I agree with buzzsaw that, it was the solo that made the song what it is, but the song on the whole was a little bit of a disapointment.
Maybe I'm just an Appetite fan, and maybe the song will grow on me - time will tell.
